My ex has not been in the picture for about 3 years, my daughter lives with me and has not seen her mom in that long. I still talk to her family sometimes but i have no contact with her (her choice). Today i found out that my ex had a baby a while ago and so my daughter has a sister. The thing is that i don't know what to do about this situation, if my ex wanted our daughter to know then she would have said something but she didn't. The whole thing is, should i say something to my daughter about it or not say a word to her and not let her know, take into acount that there is no contact and my daughter will not see her half sister. Should i say something or just keep quiet about it and not mention it. My daughter is only 6, she may not understand things as a a grownup

How do I help her get through this? I myself am pregnant as well and my 19 year old friend is happy for me and so angry with my other friend! Personally I think it's nasty for a 20 year old to be with a 51 year old man. What makes it worse is the 20 year old was a lesbian until she met that old man.

I am a good father with no criminal history...drug abuse...etc. I don't mean take the child and skip town but just take her and not give her back. We are seperated but have no legal papers yet... I haven't seen her in a month and I am scared that will happen again.

My sisters friend is 17 and her mom makes her do everything around the house the cleaning, cooking, taking care of her two brothers making sure they do their homework, clean their rms etc. Her mom also make her work so she doesn't have too and she goes to school (she is a senior) and if she doesn't do it her mom calls her names. Is this a form of abuse and would she be able to move out?

That when you find out that your son had sex for the first time you are secretly proud?? Why?? Is it an accomplishment in your eyes??

Would you side with your wife in the case of my other ?(which please answer) and be happy on the inside??
Why are you ok with your son having sex but never want your daughter to??
Be honest.

She was in these victoria's secret little panties and bra set, and he was in boxers. The both looked as tho they meant for what they were wearing to be seen by the other.
His hand is on her in a way that is not "normal". Very inappropiately placed.
Should I wake him and tell him he should take her home?? Or should she stay and be a part of the discussion??
Will she be all embarassed cuz she is paractically naked?? Will he be mad or worried about how my husband and I will react??
Should I quietly wake my son and tell him to wake his g/f or just wake them both at once by freaking them out?? they are both 16
I am pretty sure they used protection cuz her gymnastics coach makes her take the pill because then she never misses practice b/c of cramps.

If your child had to be one or the other of these, which one do you feel you are better equipped as a parent to deal with and why?

How would you correct the behaviour of your child if they were a bully?

How would you help your child if they were a victim?

Karma.

I've noticed that in some families that have daughters, it seems the strict father or mother that bars their daughter from ANYTHING, early curfews, prohibited from anything that involves going out, rules on everything she does or wears....has a negativer reverse effect on them. Where suddenly the sweet and innocent that seemed to work with their strict raising creates a rebel child or adult after 18 that needs to 'find herself' or enjoy all the freedom that was never given for so long.

Even with my ex, who's father was extremely strict with her...she practically went from devoted church girl to wild and free promiscuous party woman when she finally moved from her father's house to the dorms in college.

Just wanted to get some insight on this.

I'm 14 and pregnant in 7th month.I live with my father only and don't go to school this year because of the pregnancy.I met the father of the baby at a party,we had sex and since then we haven't seen each-other.My father doesn't let me go out of my room and lets me go to the bathroom only 3 times a day.I need more and when I pee in my pants,he beats me with a belt.I'm not allowed to get up of the bed until 9 am and I have to be in bed before 9 pm.My father ties me to the bed every night before I fall asleep. He makes me do hard physical work such as washing clothes by hand and cleaning the floors every day(on knees).I want to go out and to live normal but I don't have access to phone and anything out of my room(which is locked with me inside while he isn't at home). Now he forgot his personal computer in my room and went out,so I am posting the question. What should I do?

Last night I walked to my local shop at around 7:45. While there I bumped into my neighbours 7 year old daughter. I asked her why she was out alone after dark and she replied because my mum needs some milk. I walked back with her to ensure she was safe. Do some parents not realise the risk of sending young children out after dark in the current situations in which we live?

i own 51 rental houses,1088 acre farm,6 stores.i pay a hell of a lot in taxes and it doesn't bother me one bit to support government programs that help people who have less.as a matter of fact it ticks me off that government keeps cutting back on these programs while giving themselves raises.
why does it bother you to help others.if one person who truly needs medical care or food gets it,then i could less about the two who screw the system.it's the government that waste the money, not the single mother who needs help,or the elderly person who needs to go to the doctor or buy medicine.what good is money if your neighbor goes without?

My husband is 23 yrs old, we have a 2 yr old son. He was abused continuosly as a child.
After hearing time and time that victims of child abuse later become child abusers to there children.. he is worried. He doesnt abuse our son but there have been a few occasions where he has raised his voice or tapped his bottom if he misbehaved. My husband does not want to hurt our son but he is worried that he might "snap"... we do not believe in spanking or screaming at our child but when our son does something wrong my husband does not know how to react other than the way he was raised. What can he do to prevent himself from repeating what he was taught as a child?

....why do people keep having children when they cannot afford them? I'm a young mother too of a newborn, but I don't ask the government for a free hand out. I work two jobs and take care of my family. Why should the rest of us pay for a teenager or un wed couple that was not wise enough to use protection? Birthcontrol is free from the government too, but no one is eating that handout up?

My son is on a campaign for permission to play M-rated games. (His latest interest is "Gear Wars," or something like that.) Right now we absolutely forbid M-rated games in our house. I agree to review them but I maintain that they are just not appropriate for his age. His mother and I are in complete agreement on this. We know he plays them occasionally at friends' houses, which we accept.

Tonight he wrote up a list of 19 of his friends who, he says, are allowed by their parents to play M-rated games. He wrote up a set of conditions and rules that he would abide by in order to establish his maturity and demonstrate his trustworthiness in owning and playing M-rated games. I am impressed by his reasoned, thoughtful approach, but I still believe that they are just not appropriate for his age.

I plan to contact some of his friends' parents to find out their thinking, but I'd be curious to know from other parents out there how they approach this question, and why. Thanks.

I have 4 children (aged 5, 4, 2 and 3 months old). My children get cold (runny nose) and cough quite often. Its always started with one, then followed by the others, and then all of them are down at the same time.

My mum in law said that it is my fault. I wash their heads everyday and I don`t give them warm drinking water.
And that makes my husband mad at me too. They think I didn`t know how to take care of my children.

When the weather is cold, I always give them warm shower and I only give them cold water in hot summmer day.

I don`t know how they become sick. I brought them to doctors and gave them medication as prescribed but after few months they get sick again.

So, is it my fault? why they always make me feel guilty over my children health?

What should I do to prevent them from having cough and cold?

Thanks.
