I can believe it. I'm sure it wasn't about his daughter at all, but many guys have a hard time expressing love. It's easier to joke about it or turn it into something conditional so it doesn't 'reflect' on their manhood.

Just know that he does love her, probably more than he could ever express.

Yeah, that is wrong. You shouldn't judge anyone but the child just got here and he is already thinking like that, she hasn't had a chance to do anything. It could have been a joke, but you just don't say things like that. I feel sorry for the little girl when she gets older.

I've heard that out of peoples mouths also. Let him know that was rude, I'm sure he didn't mean it truthfully, he was just probably making a joke that turned out to be rude. Point out his behavior and take the opportunity to remind him of his obligations to her. God Bless

Some people are just very homophobic. I had a friend in high school when he came out his family disowned him. It does happen! So much for unconditional love...

How old is he?? If he is a young father, yes I can believe it. My mother says she would love me if I was gay(I am not) and just don't kiss in front of her.

Disgusting. Even more is how disturbing it is. This guy is obsessed with fear and hatred of homosexuals. He has real problem.
