How much do fireworks pollute and how harmful are the toxins they release to wildlife?

In 10 years, our air hot and choked with greenhouse gases, snowfall a thing of the past, Florida, New York City, and L.A. buried under the waves, hordes of panic driven refugees, drought, floods, violent storms having made sea crossings impossible, the spread of ruin and devastation. My question is since humanity will be doomed can we go ahead and run riot in the streets, all while pillaging and violently settling scores? In other words, can we have some fun?

Aside from killing trees for the creation of cardboard and paper used to make them, fireworks produce smoke and release toxic gases into the air. I have not seen any scientific studies performed to determine mathematically, how much pollution is created and the effects of it.

So the other day i was watching this freakin retarded show on nickelodeon and it was like kids news where some old lady talks about effects of global warming in some part of the world and about the kids it affects. So then some camera crew goes to places like kenya, indonesia, etc... and well in one country something like indonesia, it was raining too much and it flooded and stuff. and the kid said, global warming is causing it to rain too much. he said "im really mad at america and china for causing global warming because global warming makes it flood." Then it went to africa, where 3 young girls talked about how a river had dried up because global warming had made it too hot and the river evaporated and now people have to travel for miles to get water out of this sorry puddle which is supposed to be a spring. and i was just wondering how global warming would cause 2 very different climate changes? and if the kids even know ANYTHING about dry and rainy seasons?

And i wonder, what type of analysis that can be done, that is related to my mechatronics.

My son's girlfriend showed me a pretty necklace her mother bought her from eBay. It was a moon with a face in it and it was made out of ivory. She was so proud of it, but I didn't like it. I didn't even know you could buy ivory from eBay. Her mother is so good about recycling, caring for animals, the environment, etc. Her family are vegetarians because they feel it's not right to eat meat. They would never wear fur either. How much sense does it make then to go out and support the ivory trade?

I think it's a natural cycle of the earth. Based on studies of the earth.

But my co-worker (who is a bit of a greenie) thinks we humans have caused it, and that if something isn't done soon the earth won't be able to reverse the damage

So what do you think?

Anthropogenic global warming (AGW) skeptics/doubters/deniers always seem to make political arguments like:

It's all a liberal/socialist hoax/conspiracy.
Scientists are making it up for the money.
IPCC is biased.
Al Gore blah blah blah.

When they do make a scientific argument, it's usually very oversimplified and amateurish.

On the other hand, those who believe the AGW theory is accurate generally make solid scientific arguments. For example, proving that the current warming is not being caused by the Sun or natural cycles, showing that the planet is warming more at night than during the day and that the upper atmosphere is cooling - both of which are predicted by the AGW theory, etc. etc.

Why is there such a discrepancy between type and quality of arguments?

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change proposes a maximum sea level rise of 32 inches this century.

But in the journal Nature Geoscience, researchers say the true maximum could be about twice that: 64 inches this century.

Ethanol has less energy than gas and FOOD has to be taken from being FOOD to make energy for Vehicles. Does this seem sane to anyone? The cost in energy to produce Ethanol is higher than OIL not to mention it gets less per gallon miles than Oil so why is everyone on this bandwagon?
Now for battery powered cars. What do we do with all the batteries of older cars when they eventually stop working properly? Imagine all those batteries in landfills leaking acids into the ground water! That is not a better alternative than the oil we use now or am I wrong?
Hydrogen is the way to go but we are far from that achievemen and it has to be worked out in the private sector or again am I wrong?
If you want to save OIL then we need more NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS not oil or coal burning plants think of the amount of oil we could save to put to get prducts such as tires, plastics, and gas and diesel and av-gas. Am I wrong again?

Last time I checked the relation of the Earth to the Sun either being closer or farther away has more to do with this than anything we do i.e. orbit. I am for a cleaner planet but taxing me for so called "green house emmissions" solves nothing until the likes of China and India not to mention Eastern Europe clean up their acts. All of these so called models predicting the future can not even 'back cast' past weather patterns and we know what the weather was like 100 years ago so who do we believe Al Gore a life long politician with an agenda or the scientist no intemidated but the Global Warming crowd? Who benefits? Who gets more power over our lives?

I think it is quite odd that trash haulers like BFI and Waste Management ask their customers to recycle and charge them for this recycling, especially when they in turn make money on those items. They should actually be giving money to customers for their recycling which in turn would be used as incentive. Does anyone agree?

change must start now not 20 years from now, it all starts with YOU, every little action helps, even picking up someone else's trash

In 2008, I plan to become more enviornmentally conscious. I already recycle, but I want to really reduce my use of plastics. I want to do this by purchasing canvas bags to carry my groceries home. Are there certain ones that work better than others? I buy a lot of fresh produce, so I'll need something that can clean up easily in the wash but is also sturdy. Any links and pix you can send me are much appreciated!
Happy New Year!
:-D
btw- I'm not picky as far as color or design. As long as it functions well, I'm good.

Id consider myself a reble. I want to live a fun amazing life and I dont want it to be like anyone elses life. It seems like thats what everyone is trying to do to me andmake me like everyone else. Ive always had these thoughts about running away with my guitar and starting a new life in the city/town thing near me and have an adventerous life. Like what do I do? How do I deal with it? I tried doing stupid things in school and got suspended just for going a little deep into the woods at recess. I dont want my life to be boring and stuff.
