No - It's the Sun that is responsible for all warmth on Earth. Man has no ability to effect the climate.

If by "we" you are referring to the population of the uk and Ireland (Bearing in mind this site is uk and Ireland) of course not. If however your question was aimed at all people worldwide, and lets not forget if that was your question we are now assuming the entire population has access to computers, which in itself would consume a large amount of power and therefore cause its own problems the answer is always a definite no.
Lets not forget that while the government in the uk prattle on about global warming (always with the threat of more taxes to reduce the problem) "developing" countries such as china and India are building coal fired power stations at an alarming rate, and correct me if I am wrong but I believe that the ozone layer above the UK is pretty much the same one as above more serious polluting countries. ONCE AGAIN THE ANSWER IS NO , not unless you can reduce the lure of the dollar, yen, euro, pound stirling etc

OBVIOUSLY YES!Global Warming can surely be reduced. But the important thing is that each and every person in the world must co-operate with each other.Just following a few basic things would help.
Turn off electrical. appliances when not in use
Use jute/cloth bags instead of plastics/synthetics
Use CFL's(Compact Flour-scent Lamps) in place of Incandescent Lamp
Try to grow trees wherever possible, etc
All we have to do is co-ordinate the people and jointly achieve it.
Of course, developing nations do have problems in reducing pollution levels.Just as the UN is, a separate International Organization must be started and all countries must abide by its laws.
All countries must plant a certain number of trees each year and can release only limited amount as CO2,SO2,NO2,etc,etc.
If all these happen, note my words,we can create a beautiful world.
It is up to us to prevent global warming from not turning into global boiling.

I think we absolutely can. The problem is that we do not do much about it coz we believe that noone esle does. At the point that people start making decisions without thinking that they are the only ones and discouraign themselves by that, we can make a significant difference. And I am truly hoping for environmentaly friendly traqnsport to be the main technological advance this decade. I am personally thinking to buy a hybrid car or something else that's low emmision.

Absolutely yes.
The major sources are few:
- Energy production (primarily electricity) 42% of North American fossil emissions in 2003.
- Transportation, 31% of total emissions in 2003.
The possible conservation and mitigation steps are clearly outlined in the detailed reports below, including costs and other tradeoffs for each.
The good news is that much of the up-front steps must come from conservation efforts which in many cases pay for themselves with savings (contrary to the dire predictions made by some).
Note that this carbon cycle science summary and response option review was developed by 13 federal agencies. The references section points to over 800 scientific papers involving thousands of scientists. It's not propaganda fluff, it's not a random collection of names, and surely the Bush administration does not deal in socialist plots.
I'm no knee-jerk liberal, and I do have major concerns regarding China. Once the U.S. gets out of everyone's sights as the major offender with no reduction plan, China will be the next biggest reduction opportunity for the world to focus on.

No we can't. We can no more make the temperature change than we can cause earthquakes or make it rain or snow when when and where we want it to. We can't make the sun come up at different times or from a different direction. Even if we could control the universe, what's to say that it would not turn out to be like wefare, medicad and social security?

No.
It was only this year(if you're quick, it's Dec31) that the Foreign Minister of India (pretty much echoing the standpoint of all the alleged "developing nations") stated something along the lines of "we have a right to burn fossil fuels (indiscriminately) because that's howThe West created their wealth" - Add to this the fact that The US Govt will resist Kyoto or it's replacement (I have lots of American Friends - none of them actually agree with this), and we're finished, really, don't you think? Will me using low-voltage lightbulbs and turning down my heating by one degree save the world? I do both these things anyway, but it's just a token gesture. I despair.
The Chinese are building two Coal-fired power-plants A WEEK!!!!
The attitude of this jerk (Indian Foreign Minister) is tantamount to saying "The west enslaved negroes 2,3,4 hundred years ago, so now we have the right to do the same thing" - where do I report to get shackled up then huh?
You're killing the planet's capability to support life as we know it.

No. But you should ask "can we reduce it significantly" since reducing it 0.01 degrees for example is not important. The amount we add probably is less than natural variation so we would have to first know how much it was going to naturally rise based on other natural factors. Since that is beyond our present knowledge and technology, we can't say that we can reduce global warming in any significant way. In addition, who is to say a little warming isn't beneficial and greenhouse gases tend to moderate temperatures especially on the cold nights and winter days.

ABSOLUTELY!
The only problem is not everyone is going to agree that altering life as we know it is a much smaller sacrifice than wiping out LIFE ALTOGETHER. Some things everyone should do:
Turn off ALL electronics when not in use
Recycle all recycleables....ALL THE TIME
Ride your bike or walk
NEVER burn trash in your fireplace or Bonfire
Stop factories from burning things that we could do FINE without.
As soon as the three in one Solar Powered, Wind Powered, AND electric cars come out is Summer '08 it should be illegal to have a gas powered. You should be able to trade the gas powered for the New Cars.
P.S. Everyone who said it was JUST the sun is WRONG! If we hadn't polluted we wouldn't have thinned the OZONE layer causing the suns rays to be hotter.

No.
Since its inception, Earth's climate has never been static - it has either warmed or cooled.
It will continue to do so until we're enveloped by our Sun in about 5 billion years.
