I want to but truthfully I don't know how =) I am the only one willing in my family to do it, but I am allowed. So exactly what do I have to do to recycle?

He used solar panels to charge up some batteries to run lights and computers and stuff like that, i was just wondering if solar panels could really power an entire cabin or would he need a back up generator?

such. If so, how much do you get per can? I know recycling companies get money for recycling things, but can an individual do it by only recycling regular food cans?

Traditional earthquakes are mainly due to plate tektonics or volcanic processes. Generally that's all happening too deep to be affected by small changes in temperature and any minor thermal expansion on the earth's surface.

However, tremors up to magnitude 5.0 on the Richter scale can be caused by movement of glaciers, and those quakes are increasing in frequency:

http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn8889-glacial-earthquakes-rock-greenland-ice-sheet.html

Ekström reports that quakes ranged from six to 15 per year from 1993 to 2002, then jumped to 20 in 2003, 23 in 2004, and 32 in the first 10 months of 2005 – matching an increase in Greenland temperatures.

Well, the question may be somehow gross, but what I mean is, there are a series of studies in which its said climate change will bring more harmed nations to start wars with those having more natural resources(water, food, wood, so on), there is also a growing concept of «climate migrants», referring to mass migrations from the poorest nations to those capable of sustaining its people.
So, tell me, what do you think Climate change as you imagine, will bring to Mankind, animals, plants, the world...?

Do you believe that? I live inland. Anybody ever had occasion to mix concentrated nitric and sea water, even on a small scale? I don't know what it'll do but I doubt it'll be good.

Let’s play a game shall we? Let say for a moment that you get a new job in a different city. In this city you find high rent prices but no vacancies. You are forced to buy a brand new condo that you can barely afford and are one of the first to move in. Everything is fine for a while until you find out that 51% of the other condos were purchased by one family who wanted to be together. You also find out they are a bunch of slobs. They are strident, they throw garbage around and relieve themselves on the hall carpets. The smell from their cooking is enough to gag a maggot. What do you do about these people? They control the majority and your property rights values state that one person can't control another person in the way they live or what they do with their own property. By suing them or calling the health department you are going against your values by forcing another person to live by your rules. If you do nothing your condo will be worthless and impossible to live in. What would you do?

Every one says ethanol is going to help the cost of gas. Gas cost 2.89 right now. How is puting ethanol in it going to make it cost less. I have been buying it for YEARS for $40 a gallon ($10 for a quart jar). How does that make the gas cheaper if you have to pay that for ethanol? Are the big plants just going to put the small producers out of buisness?

Thanks

Dave

Are people that deny global warming really convinced it is not a problem? Are you just scared to change your current way of living? Or do you just not understand how CO2 works as a greenhouse gas?

All the arguments against global warming happening I have heard are pretty weak. None of them can deny the fact that high levels of CO2 in the atmosphere increase temperatures at the surface, just look at the atmosphere of Venus.

Of course CO2 levels can rise naturally, but why continue to compound the problem?

I recieved an answer from someone who said...

"I recommend that you stop the name calliing with terms such as "deniers" or people are going to start calling you names."

Well that is interesting. What is wrong with calling deniers, "deniers"? Do they not deny anthropological global warming or just global warming? They deny it, so they must be deniers, no? It's simply the honest truth so what is wrong with it?
Of course AGW is the truth too and they don't like that either. Is there pattern here?

From what I understand from my 9th grade science, the law of conservation means that energy cannot be created, or destroyed, but can be converted in to Gravitational Potential Energy ( GPE ) and Kinetic Energy ( KE ). Well that energy had to come from somewhere, right?, but here on our little planet called Earth, when people have sex and are succesful, making a baby, isn't that making energy? I argue the chemical energy answer I recieved, but I always here from new parents,
" my boy is just a bundle of energy" So, do I have a reasonable argument?

How many people would be interested in participating in "A Day Without Cars"? This is a non-profit website organization that has been running since 2006 with hardly any participation.

The first Saturday of each month is titled A Day Without Cars, and when you log onto the website, you can fill out a form, basically a pledge, that you will not use a car on that day.

This adds your name to an archive, and a participant map, so it is easy to see where participants are located, etc.

Please check out the website, and submit your comments, suggestions, concerns, etc. below. Thanks!
