I'm realing determined to raise two hundred dollars in a few days.
I would consider recycling, but I'm not sure what kind of things I could recycle. Anyone have any ideas?

Recycling is a good way to make some extra cash: you can do so by recyling multiple different items. You can do so little by little; taking in pop/beer cans. If you reside in Iowa, etc. you can get 5 cents per can or in Nebraska and other states you get paid per pound. I, myself, go to different campgrounds during the summer months and get approximately $200+ per weekend in pop/beer cans by going through the items that others have thrown into the dumpster. I have also taken building materials, etc. to the landfill after a remodeling project and have left there with scrap metals: copper, brass, etc. and made more money off that then it cost to dispose of my load.
Someone else had mentioned that taking in junk vehicles was a good way to earn money and he is very correct. (It takes some time to make the most money - take out any copper wire, the radiator, heater core, catalytic convertor, battery, and aluminum trim. Sell that seperately and it will bring you the most money.) I, too, do that. I also take in brass, stainless, copper, aluminum: which pays anywhere from 50 cents to 3 dollars per pound depending on the salvage yard you sell too. I frequent the salvage yards in Council Bluffs, IA and Onawa, IA they have always paid more than the salvage yard in Sioux City, IA.
If more people would take the time to recycle it would benefit the environment. Our landfills wouldn't fill up as fast. And if more people realized how much money they threw away and how much they could earn by selling what they consider "junk" or "garbage" it would benefit all of us. Realistically $200 could be made in a day - easily. I've done it more than once. Don't forget you can recycle used appliances, old farm equipment, etc. GOOD LUCK!!!!

The cash is in copper right now. Almost $2 a pound here in Hawaii. But it still may be a hassle and quite dangerous if you don't have a van/truck and know what is safe to get (like from abandoned businesses) and how to safely get it. Gold is high right now. If you have any old or broken pieces they go for $10 a gram (in HI)! Shipyards have a lot of nickel copper a.k.a.monel and it's worth bucks! Any kind of metal that comes of a nuclear sub is usually made of either. An interesting fact: whale vomit is worth thousands, but you would have to do some research on that one. Also there are certain glass telephone pole insulators that are worth a lot. If you live in a rural area there's way more treasures to find, tractor seats, weather vanes, old coins etc. Also garage sales are great for finding oil paintings that are worth big bucks! If you have a way to haul it scrap metal is high now. See if you buy a few old cars off people for $50 cash and take them to a crusher/shreder. There is a guy that live around here that has a 1 ton dodge with a roll back bed. He hauls scrap for a live'n. Makes pretty good money at it. If you could find Aluminum or stainless they are worth alot.

Not sure how much "stuff" you and your friends have, but a garage sale is a GREAT way to recycle and get some cash in a big hurry. You could go through your closets and purge, take the good clothing and other items of worth to a consignment shop and pawn shop. You could check with a local Mary Kay representative and offer to sell for her, negotiate for half of the profits. If you live where it snows, shoveling walks and roofs earns some quick cash. Delivering flyers for a local business, helping with inventory taking..............the list goes on and on.

I'm sorry. You shouldnt have to be paid. Helping the Enviroment is an option and not a job . Recycling is helping. Not doing for the money. I wouldnt bet on geting a good pay off recycling. It's down right greety.

$200 in a couple days? Not likely. Recycling doesn't pay much, you'd need to bring in truckloads before you got more than a few bucks.

Gold is high and going higher if you have old broken chains and rings without stones.... collected it to get cash.
Gold, Silver then Copper have gone up but gold the most 1.10 +

some things are newspapers, soda cans, battery(that are in ground or not used) so you can purchase 200$/bucks if you got many of those
