There can be many answers to your question. Fear of failure, embarrassment, death, etc. Sometimes you weigh the risk against the reward. For a lot of people, they can't justify the risk. Also, lack of support by the people around you. If all you have are people telling you you can't do something, it gets into your head. By contrast, if you have people telling you to go for it, that you can do it, you are less afraid.

The fear the unknown.
when they think they know, then this is an illusion, they think they know because of their intellect, because they can think. What they don't want to know, is that their thinking is not knowing, rather it's more like fooling oneself into beleiving one's knows. So there is a common fear behind, everything, people are afraid to find out that what they think is themselves is not real. the more people challenge themselves by going into unknown territories, the more they are confronted with the face of their illusion.

people are afraid to do stuff becos they lake bravery, have a fear that they will get caught, do not have the mood to do so, and many other reasons

There can be many reasons. They may be scared of what people may think of them, maybe even their own lack of knowledge will make them scared to pursue something.
