cold and snowy winter thus far; surely not what the GW crowd
was hoping for to advance their theories.

Well, you need to remember that the Yellowstone Super Volcano is 60+ years overdue to blow and it has a caldera that is MILES AND MILES wide.

When it goes off Chicago will be under 6 feet of ash...

No kidding, SIX FEET DEEP ASH from a volcano located in Yellowstone National Park.

I heard a year ago that 1 small volcano went off in like, Italy or something and set back the healing of the Ozone Layer by 4 years...

ONE volcano...

I'm still reading articles from scientists that say that this isn't "Global Warming" but it is the earth readjusting and coming out of the "Little Ice Age" of the Middle Ages.

You know, the middle ages when all those people were starving because the climate shifted to colder and wetter in Europe and the starvation led to lowered immune systems which allowed the black death to take hold and kill Millions and Millions of people?

No one preaching about Global Warming likes to bring up The Little Ice Age...

The earth is a living entity and though we are having an impact the earth will continue on it's own cycle and there is nothing we can do to change it.

The earth has gone from barren rock to temperate...

From temperate to "Snow Ball Earth"...

From "Snow Ball Earth" to Tropical...

From Tropical to the many Ice Ages...

From the Ice Age back to temperate...

From temperate to the Little Ice Age...

And now here we are... Ants on an elephant... what will be next? Back to Tropical? A new Ice Age? What really makes you think that we can do a damn thing about any of it?

Here is a step-by-step easy-to-understand analysis of each of the flawed global warming arguments and the data which proves otherwise. After reading this report, all the global warming scales will fall from one’s eyes. Complete with 132 footnotes to the underlying source documents in scientific journals and peer-reviewed publications.

global warming should cause stormier weather in the great lakes area, that could also take the form of more snow. it could also cause very unpleasant heat in the summer.
But why don't you visit New Orleans, they have seen the effect global warming has on hurricanes.

It's called WINTER, Einstein! Ignorance is bliss...

As if you would even notice a small increase in temperature even if it happened instantly. I'm sure Chicago is representative of the global climate anyway fool.

Taxicab if you do the sums in terms of Cecilius its actually an increase of 6.45%

(12.1-12.9)/12.1*100=6.45

when you use kelvin you are calculating the percentage increase relative to zero kelvin thats why your number is so small.

First of all NekoMimi, the little Ice Age did happen and it isn't relevant to current Global Warming. Why? Because if it were than it would only explain extreme temperatures in Europe, not the entire world. Hints the term GLOBAL WARMING.

Also, to answer the question, it is winter in Chicago and there's snow.....so how does Chicago's weather system account for the earths climate system? Please do not think that your local weather patterns alone disprove the REALITY of GLOBAL WARMING.

Climate change deals with long term averages and their effects.

Local weather fluctuations and forecasts are largely irrelevant, until or unless they eventually signal a long term trend.

The accelerating melting of Greenland's ice sheet, the accelerating melting of the Arctic Ice Sheet, the bleaching of global coral reefs, these are all longer term symptoms which you might notice have no relationship with any week or month of weather.

Sure, the increasing frequency and strength of hurricanes invovles weather, but the warning sign is the upward trend in long records, not any one season or monthly collection of storms:

"In the North Atlantic, for which we have the best records, there has been a clear increase in the number and intensity of tropical storms and major hurricanes. From 1850-1990, the overall average number of tropical storms was about 10, including about 5 hurricanes. Since 1995, the 10-year average has risen dramatically, with the 1997-2006 average at about 14 tropical storms, including about 8 hurricanes. This increase in frequency correlates strongly with the rise in North Atlantic sea surface temperature, and recent peer-reviewed scientific studies link this temperature increase to global warming."

Oh wow you mean it's snowy and cold in Chicago during the winter? Well, obviously global warming is a big fat hoax!

Nevermind that the average global temperature continues to rise.

It's not like that's the definition of global warming or anything.

Cold weather in Chicago in late December proves nothing in regards to global warming... nothing.
