I know of parents who take the reins when it comes to their children. Their reason? They are doing it for their kids' sake so they can finish their studies, avoid temptations and later on be successful in life. Does it work?

We came home and she said she didn't want to go to gymnastics anymore. I asked her why, and she said that she had to go potty really bad, and the teacher said she had to wait until after class. I was picking up my son at the time, so I didn't see what happened. What do I do?

My friends daughter just turned five and when I was hanging out with her, she told her daughter she couldn't have desert unless she finished her dinner. Her daughter threw her plate on the ground flipped off her mother and told her to F*** off. My friend spanked her, which makes me feel like I should go but she said to stay, and I guess I find that reasonable. What do you think?

I believe the father IS to blame and should be held legally accountable; involuntary manslaughter at least. I can't believe the woman didn't leave him. What do you think?

Ok I know some kids just dont do it. Right now its not too big a deal for us. At least its not bothering me but its bugging my husband who is in turn bugging me.
My son is 1, he starts off the night in his crib after nursing and falling asleep to music or rocking or both. He will wake up between 12-2 nurse for a few minutes then sleep until 5 or 6 when I will put him in our bed so he can nurse and dose for a bit because I dont want to get up yet. I know lazy me right. Well sometimes he wakes up more because he is teething. I have tried alot of the suggestions in a book I have Healthy sleep habits happy child but frankly they dont work for my son. I do not like the cry it out method, it dosnt work. All it dose it get him worked into a frenzy and scared out of his mind, yes we have tried it. I WILL NOT do it again. Any other suggestions are welcome. Or do I tell my husband to shut up? its not like he has to deal with it. He works until late and never wakes up with the baby

I work at an elementary school and the fifth and sixth grade girls dress in mini skirts and low cut shirts. I think that its a little inapropriate for girls that age to be wearing clothing like that. Am I the only one who thinks that? This is at a rather prestegious private school.

It's Muslim holiday Ramadan. Muslims above age 18 R to fast for about 30 days, not eat anything or even drinking any water. Eating is only at night. They R to avoid contact with opposite sex even a peck on the cheek. No watching television—even Sesame Street, no music even Mozart. My husband and his kids are practicing Muslims. I’m walked away from all organized religions long before I met him and he knows this. The youngest & only girl (now 9) does not participate at this point & isn’t expected at her age. She & I are home alone. After eating almost nonstop since 8am, going online (under my supervision) watching cartoons, etc. she says “I'm doing Ramadan” & turns off the TV! I’m watching PBS but, I let it slide. I can see it on their website. I want 2 play classical music. She says that's “just not right" & looks really sad. Worse prob is the whole family practices their faith like this. How do you handle cafeteria style religion with side of self-righteousness & hypocrisy in others?

I have 4 children ages 5 - 2 months old.

Whenever my children have flu or cough, my mum in-law said it that is my fault. I wash their head everyday and I do not gave them warm drinking water. That`s make my hubby mad at me too. They think that I didn`t know how to take care of my children.
My baby who is still breastfeeding has flu once too, neither did she drinks cold water nor I wash her head daily.

When the weather is cold, I always give them a warm shower and I rarely give them cold drinking water except in a hot summer day.

So, is it my fault? Why they always make me feel guilty on my children`s health?

What should I do to prevent them from having cough and flu?
Thanks.

A few days ago for cross country we were supposed to be running 3 miles, but the group I was with decided to walk instead, (we normally don't). Well, we ended up walking the whole thing except for when we saw someone from our team and when we were at the very end, so that it would look like we were running. So my coach was saying good job and everything. I normally don't do the opposite of what I'm told, so I really started feeling guilty. Later he asked me how I liked running, and I avoided the question. So I kind of lied. Now if my coach found out what we did, I'm pretty sure he would yell at us. I'm worried that he might find out on his own, too. He's a really great guy, and I fell really bad. So should I confess to him what we did, or run the quivalent of 3 miles or more on my own to make up for what I did?

there are areas of conflict where this was adopted as a measure of ethnic cleansing and brutal revenge as in Bosinia and Rawanda, where aggressors were from different religions or tribal backgrounds. There have been many examples in past too and history is replete with them. Can a mother still love the child who would forever remind her of the pain, helplessness and humilitaion she underwent at the moment?!!!!

I think these lil shoes are obnoxious but a child in my life has made straight-A grades and yadda, yadda, yadda. They are sneakers with one wheel on the bottom on the sole at the heel. Sometimes the wheel is detachable, sometimes not. Also may be called "Heely's" or "Heelies" or "Sneaker Skates" or "Skate Shoes” or something like that. I found a picture of them on EBay under Heely’s and I’ve posted the link below if you care to please have a look. She’s specific that this is what they look like. Does anyone know (or can suggest where I might find) who sells this elusive fashion must have in the North Georgia Area?

My two girls share a bedroom with eachother (one is 14 months the other is 1 month old). My one month old still wakes up several times during the night...should I put her to sleep in their room, even though every time the baby woke up and cried, it woke up the 14month old and she cried because I came in the room to get her little sister and not her?

I'm pregnant with my 4th child, and I have 3 very young children already (3, 20 months, 9 months) The 3 year old is no problem, as she has already experienced two babies. But the 20 month old was too young when her brother was born to remember, and the 9 month old has never experienced it. How can I explain, and when should I, what's going on with mommy and that there is going to be a new baby in the house to the younger two?

I just gave birth to my baby and was in the hospital for 5 days and none of my friends visited. What is wrong with people these days. I sent them all an email a week earlier telling them that I was going in for a c-section and they said oh great we'll visit blah blah blah. Should I say something?

Just wondering.

I know some parents will allow it as an after school snack or something light if needed after dinner, and I know other parents who will permit it at breakfast time only.

Whenever I wake up my underwear is always riding up my bum. Why is this?

Is it because they are too tight, but 'saggy' in the back? What would you do/say if you were here?
