I have a 12yo daughter and a 13yo son. I walked into my son's room unannounced today and was rather shocked to see both of them laying naked on the bed together. They were above the covers and didn't appear to be doing anything other than laying there chatting, but I'm still very concerned. Instead of freaking out I just ignored the fact. Was this the right thing to do?

Also I don't know what to do about this in the long term. Advice please?

my ex husband wants to go down and inform my daughters school of his address so he can be notified of things like parents evening. my ex just has her overnight once a week (however i do not know where he is living even though he has my daughter overnight). my ex was violent with me but never with my daughter and im fine him having her overnight once a week but i just cant stand the thought of having to go to parents evening with him. if it is in the solicitors papers that he just has her once a week then does he have any right to start trying to interfere in everything. ser5ious advice and answers only please.

My daughter is 15. I think the fact that there are so many crazy people out there has made me a bit over protective. My wife and I are divorced but I have continual contact with our daughter.

I know at her age, she is somewhat hard to reach but I want her to understand that I love her and I only want to protect her from the sick people out there.

I had a conversation with her the other day, which now I am regretting. She was home from school after two days of being ill. There are 3 phones in the house, her phone was busy for over 4 hours so I could not get through. I dialled her mobilephone, no answer. I dialed the other home phone, no answer. I then called her mother and explained to her that all phones were not being answered and that only her phone was busy for over 4 hours.

When I called again, later that evening, I was furious with my daughter for not answering the phones. I regret the conversation but I was worried. How can I get her to understand?

My 6 yr old son is very energetic and intelligent. But he gets provoked easily. I hear that he does very well in school but he also fights with other children, only those who fight with him and not with silent ones. When I ask him how his day went, he lies and tells me that he never misbehaved. He is also very careless about his things. Please advise as to how I can make him realize that fighting is not allowed and that truth is very important. He does not fight with his cousins at home.

when disciplining their kids? I remember when i got swatted at school for misbehaving. My dad would hit me with the belt. thats the way i learned to respect other ppl and learn from my mistakes. Nowadays you see kids talking back to te adults because they know that they cant be touched.

In today's society it's very abundant the motto "sex sells" (wich is sadly true) in that way you see more and more teens if not kids yet being invaded with more and more images of erotic development and curiosity at early ages and its taking it to a lot of teen pregnancies and a lot of destroyed young lifes, homes and divorces....
Would you have the courage to tell your kids NOT about the prevention of pregnancies and STD's (which IS important) but to HAVE a job experience, the responsabilities of managing finances, food provision (cooking and shopping), a clean house and wardrobe, and THEN respect their independence of their bodies?
Maybe that way their relations lasted more than 1 or 2 years.

My husband and I are both very attractive and high maintenance people. When our daughter was born 16 years ago we were both expecting a beauty queen but were devestated by what we got. We've tried dealing with the fact that our daughter is ugly but it's been hell.We send her to boarding school where she's been since she started school but now she wants to come home and I don't know how to deal.I don't want to take her places or be seen with her really. My husband has been able to deal with it a lot better than me but I don't know what to do once she gets here. She has everything a girl could possibly want material wise but still can't make friends and I'm so ashamed of her for it.We've never called her ugly to her face or tried to put her down in any way.How in the world could this have happened? What's a parent supposed to do?

Why are people on here being so rude to me?I'm trying to do right by her! We've never done anything to make her feel bad about herself and we do love her.

Etc? If I ever had children, I don't think I would want to feel forced to hang out with aunts, uncles, family, etc just because we have kids the same age. Am I crazy??? That's one reason I don't want children...I don't want to be forced into close family relationships I don't want....

I have both and would be interested to know what other people think. Both are demanding with people who constantly bicker and demand your attention. In fact the only time alone to gather your thoughts is in the commute. I'm sure other people are in similar positions

How would you respond to a man in his mid-twenties who insists he has "no relationship" with a girlfriend of a few years who he recently impregnated?

The two broke things off primarily because she would not abort the child.

Do you believe that he ought to feel obligation to such a woman and her child beyond paying child support and a few brief visits per year?

Do you believe he should consider such a woman a part of his family?

What degree of respect, if any, does she deserve despite going against his wishes?
