Back for me. Then she will roll over on her tummy, and they say it's fine as long as I put her on her back when she goes to sleep. How about you?

Ok I have a 3 year old daughter and a seven weeks old son. HUsband works long hours (drives truck, so no set ours) I have house work feedings and errands, son is still up every 2-3 hours at night to eat. and up by 7 with daughter. Now Im going back to online college, and start CNA classes next week to get experance for when I become an RN. Trying to get work outs in there to lose this baby weight (which i do with daughter to spend some time with her) and attend to both kids all the time. What do i do to not wear my self out to the point I get sick..?

My son was born at 37 weeks weighing 7lbs 13 ounces. taking a bottle all the time since day one, at one week old doc check up he was up to almost 9lbs. for the past three weeks he has been taking about 4-6 ounces every hour during the day and about 8 ounces at night every 2-4 hours. Now he always wants to eat and never seems satisfied...EVER. he isn't stuffing himself because he never pukes it up, he isn't being satisfied. Usually at night after a bottle he would be fussy and cry until his next feeding, last night I put a LITTLE rice ceral in his bottle and he was calm and relaxed until he fell asleep and woke for his next bottle 3-4 hours later. I think it helped satisfy him. Is this ok as long as its only one bottle at night? Its just a tiny bit of ceral and he really calms down with it.

In teens there is a lady asking how to help a niece who is heavily trumatised having been abused by her fathers. One thing came to mind that was in a dramatisation over ten years a go. In it this girl who was abused by parents, pimps, even in kids homes so trusting nobody eventually ended up in a very specailist cahrity home , one of four at the time where each kid had their own room with a entry detection system which made a noise anytime somone entered their room with panic buttons in the room around the bed etc... help them feel safe and also just incase the place was infiltrated by an abuser so she could signal for help. Does anyone have any idea about these places in the uk? Or anything like that?

I live in the UK, my husband and I speak different languages that we'd like our kids to learn. Should we speak to them in our respective languages and expect them to pick up English at nursery/school? Should we start with teaching them English to make sure they don't feel left out when they go to nursery/school and can make friends? Or should we speak all 3 languages at the same time??

Okay, so I've hit my son before in the past. Like, three times. I admitted it to my wife and signed my self up for councling. But before anything happened my son and I got into a fight and I tried to be the bigger person and walk away, so I locked him in the closet for about five hours so I could calm down. But then when she came home, she dumped me! What should I do?

Sorry about the grammar... More a question of typing too fast and not looking at screen. Problem with reporting is it just gets the post cut and no checking up on it.

Reason of Violation:Not a Question or Answer.

I got pregnant and my boyfriend left and wanted nothing to do with it. I prepared to take care of the baby on my own, stayed in school and got another job. I started dating someone I had been friends with for a long time. We weren't serious, but we were exclusive, and sexually active (always safe.) My baby's father came around and decided he wanted to be a part of the baby's life. We agreed to have an open honest friendship in the interest of creating the best relationship we could to allow us to be the best parents we could be. He asked if I had had sex with the man I was dating, and I gave him the honest answer. He FLEW off the handle, SCREAMED at me for what seemed like hours, and called me obsessively for the rest of the night. Since then I haven't spoken to him in 5 months. I don't feel like I did anything wrong. I mean, I probably should have had the foresight to just focus on the baby (and that's what I'm doing now) but I was in no way obligated to him. Can someone clue me in?

My daughter, who is almost 8, cries every night at bedtime. She says it is because she is afraid. I have tried everything. She has two night lights, and I leave on the hall light. I even moved my bed into the room right next to hers, and leave both our doors open.

The only way she doesn't cry is if she sleeps with me, or knows that I am in my room all night.

Some background: We moved into this new apt. back in July. She always slept with me before. But, now my fiancee' lives with us...so that would be very crowded. She really has gone through several changes this past year.

IHowever, I am at my wits end. I do believe that she really is afraid. But, what else can I do? I don't want to go to bed every night at nine when she does!!!

How can I keep this kid in bed and quiet?

I've tried ignoring him, but it has only escalated, he chucks it if someone leaves the house and he is not allowed to go outside too. If another kid comes too close to him at daycare, or if they won't get out of his way! I don't want to smack him but I need some ideas, as ignoring it is not working!! We try to give him as much one on one time as we can, but we both work full time so it can be limited, I just feel so guilty!! Help!

My daughter is 8 months old, and she comes from a mixed family. I am caucasian and native american. Her biological father is Asian Indian. My fiancee (who has been with me since I was pregnant, and is basically her father) is a Zulu from South Africa.

To me, she's just my little Peanut ... she's light enough that she seems "white" with me, but dark enough that she seems "mixed" with my fiancee.

I could care a less how she's classified, but every time I fill out a form, they ask for her "race." Also, as she gets older, I know people will try to place her in their own categories.

How do I instill a sense of pride and self-identity in her, and at the same time maker her comfortable in a world that insists on placing people in categories?

I'm a single mother to a two year old. My husband walked out on us about 8 months ago and we're now going through a divorce. I work 40 hours a week to support my daughter and get her the things that she needs. I've worked so hard that i'm about to get promoted. When i'm not working, i'm at home with my daughter taking care of her and doing things with her while trying to unwind from the day myself. I'm really confused because someone has insinuated that i'm a negligent mother. Does working as much as I do make me a negligent mother?

this includes everything from religion to drug use. I teach my children to think for themselves and to keep in mind that most often a "study" or "report" is done to serve an agenda, and is NOT always in their best interests. This includes things their teachers may say, things that I may say, things that the pastor at their church may say. My children know (are being taught) that in order to make an informed decision, that you need to gather information...not take everything that may be written in a book or spoken by an adult at face value.

Opinions?
