My son was born at 37 weeks weighing 7lbs 13 ounces. taking a bottle all the time since day one, at one week old doc check up he was up to almost 9lbs. for the past three weeks he has been taking about 4-6 ounces every hour during the day and about 8 ounces at night every 2-4 hours. Now he always wants to eat and never seems satisfied...EVER. he isn't stuffing himself because he never pukes it up, he isn't being satisfied. Usually at night after a bottle he would be fussy and cry until his next feeding, last night I put a LITTLE rice ceral in his bottle and he was calm and relaxed until he fell asleep and woke for his next bottle 3-4 hours later. I think it helped satisfy him. Is this ok as long as its only one bottle at night? Its just a tiny bit of ceral and he really calms down with it.

From my experiences having three children, I would say that it is okay. I did not see that you mentioned how old he is now. I fed cereal to my first daughter at three months, my second daughter at one month, and my son at two months. They are all okay. I don't believe that every child can wait the six months like the doctors say. Every child is different. If your son is hungry and tolerates the cereal then keep giving it to him. The cereal helped my children sleep too.

He's a growing boy. Over the years so much has chenged as far as opinions go on what to feed babies when. You'll discover what works for you and your baby. My mom said when my brother was born, 40 years ago, that the thing then was to get them on solids right away, no they say not until 3 or 4 months. If he's digesting it ok, and it seems to help, I'm sure it's fine. There are also different types of furmula, some which may be thicker than others. Generally, I'd say ask your pediatrician. All babies develope differently and there's no cookie cutter correct way, just guidlines. You know better than anyone else what you own child needs.
