She is as good as gold for her childminder and at school but turns into the child from hell at home, I have tried reward charts grounding, naughty step, taking things away E.T.C but nothing helps, the health visitors seem to lose interest when children turn 5.

I'm not saying abusing them or leaving bruises on them because I think this is wrong, but is it illegal to spank their behinds when they do something wrong? Or does it vary from state to state?

I have a family relationship problem but it is a long story;
so hang on...

When I was a little stud I worked as at a sort of junkyard. Everything was ok, I got to build small toys for myself and I got fed. During my sparetime I did some work on my "car" and other stuff.

Then one day a couple of hippies and TheRootOfAllEvil aka JatJatBoink showed up. They tricked me into their trap and kidnapped me.

They were nice people (although hippies) and taught me some neat tricks. There were a frog guy present at some moment and he was the only one who listened to my story.

With time more stuff happened. Raised a family got a nice job in the military buisness. Things got pretty bad and my children were abducted. Now all of a sudden some guy who reasembles my son shows up and waves a SuppaFlashlight (tm) at me...

What should I do?

My sister in law has a son that her and her husband get to see only 1-2 hrs a day. The rest of the day, he is with a family member sitter. Their philosophy is its worth the sacrifice to provide a better life for their son, and I'm having trouble seeing her point of view.
My husband has a job that he loves and allows him to have plenty of family time. Im a stay at home mom. Our philosophy is: why have kids if you just have to pay someone else to raise them?
Money or Kids?
Sacrifice time with your kids for more money, or sacrifice some income for time with your kids? Can anyone tell me WHY exactly they would be willing to give up all but an hour or two a day with their children, just so they can be better off? We arent hard up, our daughter has everything she needs, and is very happy. I know if we can do it, that anyone can. So why dont they? My family was middle class when i was a kid, and I am GRATEFUL that my parents were there for me. Care to share another point of view?

My son has been throwing MAJOR fits lately. I'm talking 1 - 2 hour long epasodes over ANYTHING. He's never acted like this before.
He wants a toy he flips out screaming, throwing himself to the floor, banging his head, just totally hasterrical. He does the same thing if we give him a toy or if we pick up his brother or sister, at meal time, at bed time.
This has been going on since Sat.
I think it's toddler frustration and try to talk to him and calm him down. If that doesn't work then time out.
My husband will just immediatly spank him and put him in his crib for like 10 - 20 minutes, which makes him even more hasterical.
Now my husband and I are about to kill each other over this difference of opinion. What should I do?
I'm trying to keep in mind that this is about what is best for my son, not who's right and who's wrong.

We hadn't heard anything from my DD's dad for 2 weeks and 2 days, when his court ordered visitations are every weekend. He calls me today and makes a demand of wanting our daughter tomorrow and the next day after she's done with school. She goes to a preschool program in the morning. I told him no, that he needs to stick to his court ordered visitation and asked him why he hadn't called in two weeks. He gave me some BS story, and I told point blank, no that he asn't getting her until the weekend. Two hours later, while I'm getting my 11 year old twins settled into bed, he leaves me a message on my VM. Telling me that he's going to get our daughter after school tomorrow. Can he legally do that? When the court papers say weekends? I emailed her teacher and sent her a copy of the court papers telling her that her dad did NOT have my permission to take our daughter. I live in WI, btw. Can he take her? Help.

When the doorbell rang. I answered the door and while I was bending down to get some candy for the children my towel slipped opened. A few of the girls giggled, but one went home and told her mom. Her mom called the police. Because she was a minor the cop turned the information over to someone else. The cop said he couldn't charge me tonight, but was sure he'd be seeing me again. How can it be illegal if I'm in my own house?

My son is addicted to candy. He smuggles it home from school, and steals from friends, teachers, and everyone he can at school. Is this an early sign of drug use? Should I lock him up in his room while I can? I don't give him candy so it is not like I can cut it off. I went to that web site where you learn ways to help your kids from smoking that gives you ways to start conversations, and used those with candy as the main idea. Nothing works though. I am hoping I can get some help. Thanks you.

Regardless whether it was problems with school, or health problems or whatever problems..
I've felt this more than once.
Even though the blame is much more sublte these days.. some of the questions they ask are so....something..
my daughter had problems in school and every single time, they would ask me what age she was toilet trained! Assumming of course that if I had toilet trained her too early, then I was the root of all her problems...

I didn't start looking into the cost of child care until I became pregnant. Oh my GOD...its freakin' expensive. I have a good job and all that, but I don't see any possible way for me to live normally and pay for child care. I checked the dept. of social services in my state and I don't qualify for assistance. I'm really starting to freak out. I have no family in the area to help me with child care. Are there any single moms out there that can tell me how its possible to afford child care?

That even BABY toys are made for a RIGHT HANDED person?? I bought a little mini xylophone on wheels, and the mallett is attached to the RIGHT side of the toy. I just found it funny considering that there is a good chance that my daughter could turn out left hand dominant.

This is just something I've been wondering. I've seen excuses such as:
1-staying after school
2-emergency
3-call from a friends' house

It wasn't too long ago that I was in high school. Our high school had pay phones as well as a phone you could call your parents from during school hours. If there was an emergency, my parents knew right away because they knew where I was. If I was at a friends' house, I had to call from their phone if I wanted to stay later. If they didn't have a phone, I rode my bike to ask my parents. Are there any other reasons teens have cell phones?

They are almost 2. They say a lot of words, but not many sentences. The best is "juice please."
They have their own langue and I don't understand any of it!
Is this normal?

My twins are almost two and have learned how to climb into each others cribs. Sometimes they fall on the floor when they do this, so I'm thinking toddler bed time. Should I give them seperate beds, or should they share a queen bed? They shared a crib until they were 7 or 8 months and would fit any more.
Do you think it would be harder with one bed or two? And do you think if they are in the same room still that it will even be possible to keep them in their beds at all? How do I even attempt this?
