That even BABY toys are made for a RIGHT HANDED person?? I bought a little mini xylophone on wheels, and the mallett is attached to the RIGHT side of the toy. I just found it funny considering that there is a good chance that my daughter could turn out left hand dominant.

It's not only the little xylophone that is for a right handed person. She received a toy that looked like a gumball machince that pops out a ball everytime you hit the handle. Guess what side the handle is on...the right. I just find it interesting.

Yes I have notice this. I am a lefty and my 3 year old is more dominant with his left hand. I beleive my daughter with be as well. I find it rather annoying that so many toys and other things are made for right handed people. They should have more toys and stuff made to be used by both hands or a left handed shop that sold things for left handed people.

Yes, I noticed and I hate it!! My oldest if right handed but my youngest is a lefty (yeah!!) and everything is hard for us. She has a xylophone and you can barely use it because the mallet is on the wrong side and the string is too dang short!! Very irritating!
While in cosmetology school I had an experience I will NEVER forget. I never felt so discriminated against in my life! A guy came to show some haircutting shears he was selling and when I asked how much more the left handed scissors were and would you believe he had the nerve to say that they didn't make them for lefties and his advice to me would be to learn how to cut RIGHT HANDED!!!! So thats my story! :)

I never noticed the gumball machine (we have that one too) but now that you mention it, you're right! And the xylophone I did notice. My son is left handed and my daughter is right. It may be more difficult for me to help her with her writing since I am left handed, we'll see!

yep, I've noticed the same... I am right handed, but my husband is left handed, and I think my son will be a lefty as well. Funny because when I was in first grade, I remember the teachers yelling at some of my classmates because they used their left hand and not their right hand. Weird!

Wow, that's really interesting. My stepsister and stepmom are both lefties, so they're hard to sit next to while eating. Most toys I played with as a baby were rather dual handed, dolls and stuffed animals and such. You never grow out of toys you use your imagination with, but those newer toys that flash and make noise and are supposed to stimulate you tend to get old faster... and they get annoying pretty quickly too...

I find it rather annoying. Generally I go with dual handed items instead. Why conform to the Righty way of thinking?
