I recently read an article regarding the new cervical cancer vaccine. The vaccine can be given to girls as young as nine years old. Many parents don't want their daughters to be vaccinated because those parents think that the vaccination will lead to sexual promiscuity. I think that the parents who hold this viewpoint should be jailed for child endangerment.

Would you let your sexual hangups prevent your daughter from being protected from an extremely lethal form of cancer?

Ok..My husband and I am in a very fusterating situation. We live with my in-laws and they are constantly going against our wishes to putting our 1 year son to bed with a bottle. I thought that was bad for a child. My son throws a horrendous fit at night and screams at the top of his lungs until they finally get up and go give him a bottle after I have fed him, and changed his diaper to put him to bed. Every time he fusses just the slightest bit they will either give him a bottle or take him out of bed. They have him to the point that he throws a fit to get his way, not just at night, but even during the day. Our son has turned into a spoiled monster! My husband and I can't afford our place at this time because we are only in our young twenties and are still in college full time with part time jobs. We constantly are yelling at his parents to stop doing what they are doing, bit they don't listen...HELP!!

My husband and I disagree on this very much. His points to make it "OK" are 1) Never smoked in front of kids 2) Does not affect daily obligations 3) Kids are given a No Drugs Rule
I feel, regardless of these points it should not be done. Even if it is not in front of the kids, by age 5 or 6 they aren'tt dumb to the sounds & smells of it.
This is something that, like it or not, is illegal and it has been proven to lead to "harsher" drug choices in certain people later down the road.
I just feel that it is an ultimate betrayal to expect kids to respect their parents while the parents themselves are "hiding" in a basement somewhere, dousing their eyes with Visine and coughing up lungs at various intervals of the day.
High school/college, fine. Parties during your couple years, OK. MAYBE an extra-curricular toke or two on vacation, but a daily occurence in an educated thirty-forty something parent - NO WAY!
I wouldn't send my kids to these homes!
Tell me what you think.

I was wondering how many mothers really are bothered by either older or younger mothers. I'm not bothered by older mothers in general, just by moms who don't support other moms!

would you call a 'one off' punishment of two strokes of the belt, given by mother in the 1970s abuse?

I wouldn't.

She only used the leather belt once.
