a lot of boys that have no friends at school find friends at clubs such as boy scouts. or some boys have no activities to do normally but with boyscouts the activities are all there

Having served with Boy Scouts since becoming an adult and serving with them in many roles including Counsel Chaplain and District Commissioner, Unit Commissioner and other not so desired jobs, I would say it would be a sad day for American and International Youth. Boy Scouts molds young minds and helps shape what it takes for some young men and ladies to be in our society. I am saying Boy Scouts teaches morals and ethics and what young people need to become productive in society which some homes fail to teach. The have programs like God and Country, God in Church and other levels of training. The merit badge program teaches them skills that will travel with them many years from becoming adults. So to lose Boy Scouts would hurt many young people and be a day of sorrow.

My oldest son is in the cub scouts and I am the assistant den leader to his den. Since he has started the scouts he has gotten to go camping and make a lot of new friends and learn about fishing and respect for our country.
It is NOT run by the Mormons. It has different sponsors who help make a pack. Most of the time this is done by a church. Our pack is done by a Lutheran church.
It is also Not for geeky little boys. Most of the boys in our pack are outgoing kids who just want to have some time with their parents. The cub scouts/ boy scouts want the parents involved in everything. It's all about family. Since doing this with my son it has given us both many happy memories of time spent together.
I hope this helps.

well a lot of boys would be end up having very boring lives if their parents didnt find another group/club/or some kind of sport to let them do that they could learn how to be good outdoorsmen, learn how to do all kinds of things that they wouldnt have the chance to do if they didnt go to boy scouts. such as canoing, kayaking, hiking, mountain clmbing, ect ect. all the fun things they get to do. and learn how to do.

to me after seeing a few stories about the boy scouts i would never put my son in it. they are run by the mormons (who i have no problem with) but they discriminate against a lot of young men for various reasons. but i do have to say the girl scouts are in no way connected to them, and i definitely want to put my daughter in there.
