Just wondering.

I know some parents will allow it as an after school snack or something light if needed after dinner, and I know other parents who will permit it at breakfast time only.

Holy cow! Cereal is probably the most balanced food you can have! The list of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients on the back is longer then most other foods other than fresh fruit and veggies. I would prefer my kids have cereal to crackers, cereal bars, or other quickie "snack items" aside from the fresh stuff.

A healthy whole grain cereal can be a nice snack anytime with or without milk...

I am known to go for a bowl yogurt and Grapenuts as an after dinner snack... Quite tasty any time of the day...

I try to make sure my kids get the recomended number of servings for each food group on the pyramid per day if they want to have a hamburger for breakfast and cereal for dinner fine by me...

My girls snack on dry cereal all the time, at least once a day. There are nights that my 2 yr old will only eat cereal with milk for dinner. Usually it's when she insists that she doesn't like what we're having even if she's had it before. lol I figure it's good as long as she eats something. SHe's VERY stubborn so when she insists she wants cereal then that's what she gets to avoid a tantrum. Heck even I snack on dry cereal alot.

Cereal is a pretty balanced snack and breakfast food. My kids enjoy it more as a snack then for breakfast. Parents who permit it at only at breakfast time may either have control issues or children that have weight issues.

It's a whole lot better than crisps, so I allow it as a snack. I used to have cereal before bed if I wanted a bedtime snack. I see nothing wrong with it.

that may no longer too undesirable in any respect see you later simply by fact the crackers and cream are in easy terms the spotlight, no longer the majority. bitter cream varies - i think of that's one factor wherein the very low fat version tastes fantastically much as reliable simply by fact the better fat equivalent, so which you will save some power intake there. It additionally flavours fairly nicely with numerous condiments or packet soup mixes for slightly sort. Cereal / muesli bars are fantastically extreme in power. The saving grace is that maximum of them are small, so in case you preserve it to a minimum of one small one in the process the day this could desire to be ok. I quite have one approximately 3pm if i'm heading to the wellness club after artwork. This helps a greater work out 2 hours later with slightly protein powder.

Oh, it's silly to label it a "breakfast food". If it's healthy, not a nasty sugary green and blue kind, than it qualifies as a decent snack. Sometimes if my husband is working late the kids and I even have cereal for dinner.

I'm not a parent, but I grew up eating cereal usually after dinner. I know alot of adults that still have cereal whenever the mood strike, including myself. So I guess it's up to the parent.

My daughters all love to have cereal (chex, cherrios, kix) for a snack. I alternate it with fresh fruit, yogurt, and sometimes a special treat. My opinion is that I would rather they prefer cereal than junk food. Also, it is easy to put some in a baggie to take in the car and easy to clean up.
