It is OK to let them cry. Separation is OK sometimes.

Hug often!

You don't say what age. But if I knew my kids had received plenty of quality time during the day (in other words, if I had no guilt issues going on), and had been through the bedtime routine, received their snuggles for a few minutes, and now I needed to go be ME for an hour before bed, I would have NO PROBLEM leaving the room even if they cried. It might be a lot harder for people who work and only see their kids for an hour or two before bedtime, I can totally understand that. But me, no guilt, no fuss. See ya in the morning.

Well, I have three children. They are 8, 4, and 16 months. I snuggle and play with them everyday because you just never know when the breath is going to leave your body. As for my 8 year old, if she cries when I leave the room then it is probably because she needs to talk or wants something. If it is my younger ones then I go back in and quiet them down and help them get to sleep.

I snuggle my kids as often as they will allow it which is less and less as they grow up.. (ages 19, 17, and 9)

Never had the problem of crying after I left thier room we had a set routine when they were smaller.... Shower/bath, jammas on, snack (carrot and/or celery sticks usually) teeth brushed, 30 mins snuggle/read/talk time and off to sleep... They never fussed when I left the room they knew it was time for sleep as we had done our routine..

We always used the routine time as winding down each activity leading to a calmer quieter activity culminating in sleep... Choose bedtime storys wisely save the adventure and exciting stories for the day read a more restful story at night so thier mind is slowing down preparing for sleep as you read to them or they read to you (depending on age)

I got three children all under the age of 8. The youngest cry only when he wants something or is sick. When he does this I cuddle up with him. When my oldest cry I try to see whats bothering him and take it from there. I have a nightly routine that we all do. We have snacks together and then story time, no play as this tend to get them hyper. After that I stay with them until they're asleep.

I do quite a bit. If my son cries when I leave the room, I let him come lay in bed with my husband and I for a bit and then send him off to bed. That usually makes him happy so he will comply and return to his own bed.

my kids have plenty of cuddles, when its bedtime all six of them get a kiss and cuddle and they know its bed time so don`t fuss,, if your child cries you can check every 10 minutes, tuck the child in and leave the room ,they soon get the message,,osme say that you don`t talk at all just go and do then the child knows they didn`t get attention!!

Let them cry. Its a natural reaction for a child to cry when learning to sleep in its own room or bed. Doesnt mean its not something that he/she doesnt need to learn. Being a parent isnt always nice feelings and warm thoughts, sometimes its letting your child go through the unpleasant things so they can grow into functional adults.

My son falls asleep on the lounge. I put him in his own bed, but because my husband does night shift he wakes up crying in the middle of the night, so i bring him in bed with me and cuddle. As for my daughter, she sleeps in her cot, then wakes up and i bring her in and cuddle. Her naps during the day, she isnt too bad. I go in there giver her a bottle and she either crys or goes to sleep.

My son cries when he can't sleep. I usually lay next to him until he's calm or let him get in the bed with me for a little while.

I love to cuddle my kids! ANytime! When they were about 6 months I did let them cry themselves to sleep (for about 20 minutes). Now that they are older, if they cry when I leave, I know that they are upset about something, so I will stay and talk or cuddle.

Enjoy the cuddles...they won't last forever!
