He's 2 and he just pulled two small plastic cups off the counter (nothing in them), looked at them, looked at me, I looked at him and told him, "Those are dirty, will you please put them back on the counter?" He smiled ear to ear, and threw them across the kitchen, then came up to me and held out his hand for me to smack it......I planned on smacking his hand for doing that but it's like he knew I was going to. Some kids RUN when they know they did something wrong and mom is approaching them saying, "no, you don't throw!"

Then after I smacked his hand, he ran off laughing.

What's your view on this? Or, would a normal, healthy 2 year do this? (Weird!)

And how old are they? Do they all have their own rooms or share? Do you let them stay up later on the weekends?

i have 2 and 1 year old daughters, my neighbor is a single parent in the military, she had to do some training for two weeks, so I have her children, night and day.
They are 4 and 2 year old boys, and i am going CRAZY, the oldest one whines over EVERYTHING. He will say he wants something to eat, then when i make it for him, he will cry cause he doesnt want it, for my own kids if i make it they eat it or they go to bed hungery. Everything is a fight with him. He is pottytrained, but for nap time he wears a pullup, today he came out and proudly annouced that he poo pooed in his pull up. He will constintly lie, and blame anyother child around for something he did.
His brother is 2 and wont talk, or cant talk, all he does is whine and point and scream. If he walks by someone and thinks about it, he decides to hit them in the head, then run off and scream like a girl. My children are so confused and upset, i just dont know what to do! BTW there dad walked out 2 months ago. Any ideas?

My son came home really excited today after his music teacher told him to keep up the good work and you'll soon be playing the skin flute. I was concerned with the difficulty of playing such an elaborate sounding instrument, what is it, and how hard will it be for him to learn?

It's me, my fiance and our 2year old son. Well, Im a stay home mom and sometimes I go to the store after my fiance gets off work and I go by myself. (I need some time alone, all people do) But if our son see's me leave, he get's so sad and upset. (Yes, were trying to teach him that it's OK for mom to leave without him and stay home with dad once in awhile) So what we do is, daddy will take our son in our room or his room and play with toys, tickle him and just play for a few minutes while I get out the door and leave. Then by the time I get back home, our son see's me and say's, "there's mommy" it's so cute, he acts as if everything was fine knowing "mom was not home". I feel guilty for doing this "Distracting thing" but I will also feel guilty for telling our son, "mommy be right back, you stay here with daddy and play."
He does NOT like that. I just feel wrong. help please.

I know a girl (who's family is morman) and she got pregnant. She is 15 years old. She is due in 2 months.

When her parents found out, they were outraged (naturally). They immediately pulled her out of public schools and hid her in the home. They told her not to talk to the boy, then they began home-schooling him as well.

He currently lives at his house.

And, I just found out her parents made them get married! She's 15!

Am I crazy, or is this HORRIBLE parenting?

It's sad that so many women have to get welfare because the child's father can't help financially. If a woman wants a child why not have it with a guy who makes a lot of money and has a good job?

U decide to do activity requested by 10 year old. She orders U around and is demanding so, R you OK to stop the activity? She asks to cut & cook French fries. U say OK, if U do Ur homework & follow instructions when we cook. Right after we start she’s saying “NO. That’s not how my brother does it.” Or “I don’t like that.” She’s always eaten my fries. She has a 22 yr old brother that U TAUGHT how to fry an egg b/c he didn't know how to cook (these R all immigrant step children of my husband). U say "This is how I do it, please get the skillet” Her: "NO! I don't want that pan. My brother never uses it!" U:” OK Since you chose not to listen to me just leave the kitchen. This is canceled.” She gives U a sad look. Were U unfair to an ungrateful, spoiled brat or were U an ogre to a normal, eager 10 yr old?

My friend is going to have a baby and she doesnt want the father in the childs life because he has a very bad background and he wants the child every week and has diffrent women in and out of his parents home or were ever he may be staying at . He says he wants to be in the childs life but she doesnt want him around at all, do you think a court would agree to share those rights with him eventhough she is not for it at all?

In the local area where I live a 14 year old boy went missing 3 years ago and a trace of him has never been found. My son has never complained about me walking him to school but I am thinking it will become a problem when he starts high school in a little over a year. yes he is an only child, but every time I think about that other boy, I just cant do it. I let him go to the movies with friends with no adult supervision, but he has no friends close by that he can walk with. Am I being over protective or do other mums or dads feel this way too. Are there any 11 year olds with an opinion on this. No abuse please.
