A child doesn't need to have his/her own room in the US. The government doesn't make personal laws like that because it infringes on a parent's right to raise their children their way. It's a touchy subject.

I'm not exactly sure of the age, but I know sort of what you're talking about.

A friend here is on section 8 and she has to have a certain number of bedrooms because she has teenagers.

I'm thinking this rule only applies to houses where you're recieving section 8, but I agree with the poster that said to check with DHS.

Legally? There isn't one. Ideally? From the age of 3 on. I've only heard horror stories from my friends who've had to share rooms with siblings. My brothers finally got their own rooms by beating the heck out of eachother.

Space is a great necessity.

No such law. It is up to the parents. What if you have 10 kids and 2 rooms and 2 beds what do you do? You make the best of what you have. You try not to throw sex into the mix of thing with brothers and sisters.

It's not that they legally have to have their own room, their beds just have to be a certain distance apart. At least where I'm from. If you have questions, just call your local division of family services. They won't haul you away for asking a question.

I didn't know there was law about that anywhere in the U.S.
It would all depend on the size of the family and the size of their house, wouldn't it?
