Do you have a church home? If so they should have something to help out. If not the nearest one to you should help. Also, after you get your stamps again you may want to rethink your shopping habits. I know it's hard with so many babies but I believe you can do it. Don't go for name go for price. After a while you will be able to locate what is and isn't good and keep up with the coupons cause those count also. I had to do it for about 5 yrs with my family I got so thrifty I was getting too much food stamps and had to buy just to keep a stock. Cause as both you and I know if you don't spend them they take them. Anyway, this way by the end of the month you will have a little extra. Good to places that sell store brands as well as "generic". They all don't taste different.... Good Luck
P.S. For some of you telling her to sell her computer. There are a lot of services out there that supply you with computers she has 5 kids I'm sure they use it for school and such or even she does. You don't know her full situation. She's just asking for options not opinions. Don't judge unless you can see the situation. And yes they even supply the hook up to internet.... Just my .02c
P.P.S. And do yu know what they require at some of these day cares? My daughter has 1 child and they want over $300 a week. This is for low income, this is while she is working part time and going to school. It's not that easy folks!!!

It's not all your fault and it's as easy as just going to the grocery store. (idiots)
Sweetheart, local churches and charities are always willing to help. If you have some rice, any kind of bean, bread or a way to make bread, you can have a meal to today. You are a mother, a strong woman, act like it. Sometimes we (mothers) have to dry tears and act like everything is o.k so that our children will be at ease. Pawn or sell things that can get you $50.00 to buy chicken, eggs, milk, oat meal, sugar and flour. With that and the item mentioned above, you can eat for a week. Be inovative! You have five children, where is their father? I hope he isn't what I think he is. Just because you had them doesn't mean the responsibility is just yours alone. Tomorrow is Monday, find your local Friend of the Court for child support, find your local Human Service office to ugrade you food stamps, you have a computer so start searching jobs on careerbuilder of another job hunting site. Take in odd jobs like babysitting or janitorial work. You have to be strong!! It is hard out here for everyone! How are you getting aroung! After you get over this hump today and finding those children something to eat, sit down and write out what you want out of life, plan to get there, how will you start getting there and list things and people who could help you get there.
Remember, a person without a plan is a lost person. Believe, pray and know that you will come out of this.

My first reaction was if you have a computer and are online,k then cancel the net and pawn your computer. But since you could be using a public a computer.
Go to a local food bank they will help. Next get a job, even if it is only a few hours a week, that will help, budget your food stamps better. Heck work in a resturant, they usually give employees meal discounts and will allow you to bring "mistakes" home.
Do something don't let your kids go hungry

Okay...get on the phone with some churches right away. Most churches can set you up with food closets or food co-ops. If the church you call says they don't offer that service ask them who they might be able to recommend for you to call. Also, call The Salvation Army or maybe even the local Kiwanis Clubs. Human Services in your area should be able to hook you up with a place that gives out food.
I know the feeling...I don't qualify for aid in any way, we struggle from time to time too. Ask a neighbor if it gets too rough!!
Call The Salvation Army first.
ALSO, when you get your next allotment of food stamps and yo go shopping try not to buy anything that is "ready to eat" except cereal or lunchmeat. This will help your money spread out further.

Call Project Now, DHS, local church groups... someone will help! Also call around for local soup kitchens. Then I would call and cancel your internet... and then use the money u save for food next month.
Ok Im sorry that was rude. I use state assistance too but at home I have no extras... no cable... no internet... no cell phone... I have the nessesaties and thats all. Because If I cant aford food then I definately cant afford all the extra's!

Obviously I don't know your situation so i'm not trying to judge, just asking honestly, if you are on food stamps and have no food for your children, then why do you have a computer and internet access? In any case, most communities have food banks, especially around the holidays, also many churches offer free meals to families in need, so you may want to try and find some of those in your area. Good luck, God Bless, I hope you find what you need for you and your children.

Do you have any cans? Return them! Look around the house for some spare change. You'll be surprised at what you can find. Then go to the store and by only what is on sale that is healthy and nutrutious. Don't forget to pray. My family has been in some very tough times too and that is the only thing that I can hang onto.

Call the churches in your area and tell them you have an emergency. You can also call your pediatrician and they will be able to give you some contacts. The police station would also be able to tell you where to go for help.
You just need to ask for help. Get offline and get on the telephone.
Especially this time of the year people are willing to help. I would go into a supermarket, ask to speak wtih a manager, and tell them the situation and see what they can offer you.
Good luck. SD

#1.. find a way to support these children because obviously gov't help is not doing well.... do whatever is necessary to provide for them. It is your role as a parent to sacrafice and make ends meet.
#2... you should be able to get help other than food stamps from organizations or churches in your community.
#3.. cancel your internet.. that will save you money.. oh and pawn the computer..

Churches have food banks call your local, wic or food stamp office and they will have a list of help available in your area.
I have had this happen before too, I have to rebudget our foodstamps every month till I can catch up, I have tried to supplement powdered milk with things I bake or cook to help with the cost. Also cooking from scratch and not buying so much premade food helps.
