Being a girl, with siblings, your parents tell you that they want more grandkids and you were going to be the next kid to have kids. But, you would rather use your life to find out your lifes goal and go places in it. You would rather not, because you don't feel like you wouldn't be able to raise them right and you want to move around, and travel, and you don't want them because of the world we live in.

At my daugthers elementary the teacher ask her students to buy a present and $$ for their Christmas Party .
Girls to buy a gift for a girl & the boys for boys but not to exceed $5.00 plus she asked for $2.00 for Pizza & drinks.. Wich I thinl it is reasonable, because there are parents that can't afford to give much at least they will be having fun that day!!!
The problem was that one of the mother said that she will not allowed her son to get a cheap present because he will not give a cheap present .So she told the teacher to remove him from the list that he will not even go that day!!!! I feel bad because the kid was happy to participate and is fine it will be just for fun so they can have a good moment they are in kinder they don't know about $$$ & expensive or cheap toys they are just kids !!!! What do you think about this ???

to know what all this stuff is! How should I explain to him that what Fiona does is not right? The teacher works with 30+ other kids so it is hard for her to see the kids, that is why I volunteer. Fiona came up to me and says, "Ur a mother f-----in a--hole b---th." I was dumbfounded! I need help.

I got some nasty messages after I post a message about spanking our kids. My boys are 8, 11 and 14 and we do spank all three of them when it is necessary. Spankings are a last resort and usually a warning is enough to get the negative behavior to stop. A few people have argued that a 14 year old is too old or big spank. I say this depends on the child. I would never spank a kid who has hit puberty, whether they are 10 or 16 as though once a kid hits that stage other methods are better. Our 14 year old is still immature, he is still a kid and that is why he gets spanked and we still get results from the spanking.

I'm the only native English speaker and college educated person in my home. My husband's kids (10 girl and 20 yrs old) from his 1st marriage and started learning English about a year ago. I assist the 10 yr old stepdaughter with her homework every night. About 75% of the time the SD is consistently questioning my competence in English and most other subjects. Sometimes she'd rather keep an answer wrong that I tell her needs to be corrected. After almost a year of this I've had it so, I've decided to no longer assist her with her homework at all. She tells anyone who will listen that her brother whose speed of learning is disturbingly SLOW is "very intelligent". It's my suggestion to her that she get him or her father (who's illiterate in all languages) to assist her with all school work. I have a rapport with her teacher. She thinks this will impede her learning process but was understanding of my situation. If you were in my situation what would you do?

Ok, My husband's cousin watches my son while we're at work and my daughter is at school. Her son is the same age as my son.

I had to pick my daughter up from school because she was sick. I tried to call the babysitter to let her know I'd be early but she didn't answer the phone.

When I walked in the house they were definatly kissing but I'm not sure what else. They definately jumped when I walked in and thankfully were fully clothed.

I consider myself a conservative person and I'm definatly an old fashioned parent. So what should I do? I plan on talking to my husband when he gets home. But I'd like to hear some opinions.

If your child saved up money for a couple months to buy a game that she really wanted and them ended up dropping the game into the bin for Toys for Tots on the way out of the store without regret... would you inturn buy your child the game she willing gave up for Christmas? My fiance thinks we should but Im not sure. Im very proud of her for doing what she did and did it without expecting us to buy the game for her and she has already started saving up again for it. What would you do?

My kids are only allowed to watch 30 minutes of television after bath time each day. granted some days are special (christmas movies, etc) but they would never be inside watching tv when they can be outside.. (obv when they are not sick). I feel like all their friends can talk about is Ben 10 and Go Diego Go. How much television do you allow your children? My kids are 3 (triplets).

I know its difficult to have children really close in age but are there any parents like myself who find it difficult to have children with a big age difference. My daughter was 8 years old when my son was born and I missed her dance recital when my son was 2 wks because he was sick and I couldnt find someone to watch him. Then today I just barely got to see her school christmas recital because my son who is now 19 months old started screaming right after his sisters solo part. I left a sweet note in the office for her but I just feel bad. I feel like she is missing out because of the age difference. And now Im 7 wks pregnant. She has always been very understanding but I still feel horrible. Anybody else going through or have gone through the same thing I am right now? Some encouraging words would be great right now. Thanks!

I was at my son's school watching a presentation about animals by some man. Anyhow he was showing frogs, lizards and i didn't think anything bad about that until he pulled out a boa constricter and some other snake that i cannot recall what the name of it was. Anyhow i got to thinking that might make a kid think it is alright to pick up snakes. Even though i have told my son to not pick one up, to just run if he sees one but this being showed in school do you think that my child and other kids will be thinking it is okay to pick up a snake?

We live in the appalachian mountains and it is very common to see copperheads and rattlesnakes so do you think the school should even be doing this?
Also that man wrapped that snake around him asking the kids did they want to touch it. (my son didn't)

I have ran into this question lots of times. What are your opinions on this? I feel that the reasons children are so out of control now is that parents don't have the control anymore. My parents spanked me and I would not do half the stuff these kids are doing now. I feel that spanking(not abuse) is not used enough with out of control kids. It did not hurt me mentally at all. I think that is one of the reasons I have a masters degree and a wonderful job. It kept me in line.
