I babysit a child who has recently done some things that I consider unusual for his age. He drew a very graphic nude picture and this morning I found him lying on top of another child. I don't want to overreact, or to alienate his mother. What is normal for them to do at this age? He is only 5.

my Tim has joint custody and set court orders for visitation with his exwife for their 8yr old son.The problem is whenever she gets a new bf she wants to change the visitation schedule around to accommodate her.The court order is set up so Tim has his son every other day from after school till 7pm and every other weekend.Tim allways follow this unless there is an emergency. His ex routinely calls 15 mins before we are to bring him home to tell us she will be late and we have to bring him home later or will call us to come and get him earlier from her..Most of the time shes only late by 30 mins or so but there are times when she wants him to keep him like whole days which interfers with our plans. The worse part is Tim allows this to happen and will not say a thing to her or even asks me if its ok.He will not say anything to her as he is afriad to confront her and make "problems" for his son.I think hes just afraid of her period and allowing her to control us.

I know yogurt and applesauce is good for you, but I only give them to her as a snack and she doesn't seem to understand that. If I give her one kid size cup of applesauce, she cries so I have to give her another cup. Same thing with yogurt. She seems to think that when I give her a snack, it's meant for her to get full from like a meal so when she doesn't get full from the snack she cries. When I give her a few cheese crackers, she cries for more until I give her the amount she's satisfied with. Do I need to teach her now that applesauce, yogurt and other similar snacks are meant to be for dessert/snack only and is not a replacement for a meal? I mean I like that she loves applesauce and yogurt but do you see anything wrong with me giving her 2 of them until she's satisfied? She's 1 years old and is a normal size baby.

We are a group of 4 moms who all had babies within 2 weeks of each other. 3 of us are not competitive - we compare babies, but only to look at milestones, etc. There is no competitive vibe whatsoever. We are all proud of our own kids but we dont feel the need to make our kid look "the best", the fastest, the smartest, etc. However the 4th lady is SO competitive about everything, even to the point of lying about her kid, eamiling rather "in your face" videos of her kid doing things, being blatent about comparing our children, etc. The other 3 of us have avoided her, and started to not include her at all, we still have to see her every once in while. I feel like "it's on, *****!!!" even though I am not competitive. She brings it out of me. Anwyay - what are some clever ways to dig at her when she is being like that? PS - our kids are only a few months old! It's sick!!!

I know this question gets asked 10 times a day but all the other questions didnt cover exactly what I'm trying to figure out. I've been off birth control for about a year now...I've had abnormalties on my cervix twice with both times I had biopsys which both times came back normal i have a follow up for the most recent biopsy in March...anyway I was due for my period around 11/16 and I have yet to recieve it...I've never really kept up with my period and the exact dating of it so when i took the first few pregnancy test I probably wasn't even late yet gosh im rambling..okay basically im almost a month late..I have a pregnancy test and im debating whether i should take it or wait a little longer. I don't really have any symptoms rather than possible food craving..teeth have started bleeding and when i use the rest room i kinda get a small cramping...also, when i have to use the bathroom it almost seems like ive been holding it for hours when i just went is this sign or maybe a UTI?

My daughter will be turning 1 soon and I don't want to "go all out" for her birthday but I want it to be special. So could you give me some ideas or tell me what you did for your child's first birthday? What type of decorations, who you invited, what type of food you served etc.?
Thank you!

My baby is very tactile and loves sitting on my lap during the day. I find it quite restrictive as I can't get any chores done, and my sisters tell me that I'll turn her into a clingy toddler. Is this true? On some days she is fine to play on her mat by herself for 20 minutes but on other days she just wants to be cuddled and held. Should I stop this habit now? She is 3 months old.

My BF and I joke around in a way that is R rated. We are both adults, we both joke with each other like this.. My BF's 12 yr old son has been disrespectful to me, saying things that my BF would say, etc.My BF explained, "Debra and I are adults we can say that, you are a child, you may not say stuff like that" The kid dosent understand that he does not have the same privledges as an adult(he is learning disabled and has other problems) I never joked like that in front of him, and suggested to my BF that he stop.He said "I wont shelter him, he just has to learn he cant do everything I do at his age". I said"you wil purposely say things that you know he will say to me, and then I will get upset with him? Why dont we just prevent that??" BF said"I dont want to shelter him!" I said"Ok dont shelter him, but dont do things with him at MY expense. I cant be the guniea pig" Bf said"You dont know how to handle kids!!" and walked away. The 12 yr old is allowed to watch R rated movies, games etc

ok so i read that someone asked a psychologist this question?

if your 7 yr old son and 6 yr old female cousin would go into room, lock the door and strip to explore the differences between the male and female body. of course it is not sexual, but would you stop it or not? or would you encourage a franker discussion with you there?

stay tune for for the child psychologist's answer!

Got him a game for gamecube, DVD, toy fish tank, coloring book, crayons, markers, 2 books to read, toothbrush, toothpaste, gumball machine, extra gumballs, lifesavers x-mas pack, puzzle, 3 brainteaser puzzles, alarm clock, camera, handheld electronic game, and a flshlight. Is that overdoing it? His older stepbrother, 15 yrs old, is getting a new computer and a cell phone. Is that all right? I worry that the 15 year old will feel a bit jealous because the 6 yr old got more to open than he did. Its our first x-mas together as a family and I'm kinda worried that the 15 yr old won't feel comfortable, after all, before I met his Dad he was an only child and it must be weird to hear another little kid calling his Dad Daddy. Or am I worrying over nothing?

I am pregnant with my first, my husbands second. My husband and his Ex co-slept with their daughter and she still sleeps with her mom. She is 10 years old and her dad has to sleep with her 50 % of the time while she is here. She never slept a night alone until the last year. We have been married for 2 years and together for three. She is very comfortable with the house. She get scared at night in her room. Its a nice room, we leave the lamp on and the TV.

My problem is I don't want to co sleep for so long, my husband wants to. I don't mind it for the first year, but I would also like the option to have them sleep alone without being scared. I just wanted to hear from parents with experience with this. How you got your kids to sleep alone, at what age? Was it a hard for them to sleep alone?

does my 2 year old son ALWAYS bash his head in? If I yell at hi he will go run and smash his head into a corner or floor and anything for that matter, and then he will cry like hell and say oww.
THIS IS NOT a phase, he has been doing this since about 9 months, I have never seen a kid do this, and I dont know what to do about it.
Because he bashes his head really hard I am afraid one day he is going to crack his skull.

Can a single woman adopt a child from Russia or do they have to be married. I am interested in pursuing this in the next few years and would be greatful to know anything about the Russian adoption process, costs associated with it, how the adoption went, and how the child is adjusting to life in the US. Any information is welcome. Would love to hear espically from parents who have recently done international adoptions. Thanks so much!!!
