What is a great family game to play and get the kids involved with out making them board?

buy a peice of bristol board(one for each kid and ur spouse/yourself!)...each of you design your own board game(rules,board itself,player,other things needed for the game,etc)..and play each of them once a week or something.... that way your kids are involved and obviously they will liike the game they made up so it wont bore them...or sll of u as a family spend monday night-saturday night making up a game and on sunday night before the kids go to bed play it!!! it makes it that much more fun!! do a different one every week..whio knows maybe you can go see someone n actually get one of the games put on the market...a guy from a ciity not from from mine did so and made wekll over 10,000 $ on the first day of sales thru out canada!

there is a good number of issues to do!! lease a campground area (no longer too high priced) so anybody can hang around in the area and cook dinner nutrients jointly as a set! Have a water combat (communities on a field and circulate at one yet another, no factors in case you like!) I think the key to any games played with kids are to make sure that they are playing on the same "level" as you, games such as Simon, Memory, Perfection, and Connect Four are great to play with kids in the early elementary age.

As for older kids, I have played games that are not massed produced/Walmart shelved. Two of the best I have come across are Carcasson and Settlers of Cattaan. Both are simple games that can be learned in the matter of minutes. But on the more popular games, I would suggest teaching them card games, such as gin and canasta, as well as playing games such as Sorry, Parcheesi, and Chinese Checkers.

It's wonderful to see someone using games for entertainment, but remember, they also teach winning and losing gracefully, sportsmanship and many other useful social tools.!

Uno is a good game for kids to play. Depending on their ages, you could buy some marbles and teach them how to play. Kids love to play marbles.

My family loves Uno Attacks! Our kids are 2 and 6 and it's great to teach them colors and numbers. Plus the cards come shooting out at you and the kids love to press the button. Twister is another great game. A little dated but still fun!
