Sometimes that is very hard. It took me becoming a parent to understand that parents do care even when we think they don't. Well, most parents do. You can tell if they genuinely listen to you, and it's just a confused look or a look of sorrow on their face...there are other things to. But if they don't, I would say they would leave you alone alot, never listen, or give advice, or if they would party or drink and show no regards to your feelings. Or if they seem to think you are stealing valuable time away from them by telling them your problems, say you are ruining their t.v. show. You can just tell. You know or you don't. Deep down you will know. Search your heart. I always thought my parents didn't CARE. but deep down, today I know I knew they did. I was just a depressed teenager who felt like I had no one, only because no one was like me, or could relate.....not because no one cared.

Well it depends on the situation. If your parents know in their hearts that everything that you have said or what has happen
is legit or serious. If my children came up to me and told me something and I knew they were telling the truth or they were
hurt then yes I too would be feeling sorry cause they can't do
the things they want to do until they recover.

If you tell them about a disappointment you are having and they say "Oh boo hoo. Be a man you pssy!" they might not be feeling sorry for you.
