Well first I'll make them stand there while I lecture them about what they did, why I'm going to spank there butt, find out why they did what ever they did, make sure there not going to do it again (remember there still standing) , ask them why there not going to do it again, remind them I'm going to spank there butt, tell them a nice long story (if I have one) about what happen when I did something like that as a child and why I don't want them to do it any more, remind them that I love them and that I don't want anything bad to happen to them. Then I have them go and get the paddle, I spank there butt once or twice (it mostly depends on what they did and how well they were standing there during my lecture and whether or not they tried to argue with me) I send them to there room tell there done crying. Once there done crying I ask them if there ever going to do it again, and tell them how long there grounded for.

My kids don't do really bad stuff very often. And they almost never do it more then once.

I'm not the no-punishment kind of mom, but an hour??? How old is your child?

That's excessive.

Most people would say the rule-of thumb is somewhere around their age + 5 minutes (a 4 year old would stand for 9 minutes, etc.).

Being proud that you've made your child's legs hurt badly is cruel.

I do time-outs for both, loss of priviledges for my older child, swats on the bottom or hand for the younger one.

I punish my children consistently.....even when I don't feel like getting up to deal with "the same ol' stuff". If they get away with something that they know is wrong, one time.....you will pay for it...my oldest daughter learned to read by copying passages from the Bible and other books that I have at home. Then I would help her read what she wrote and we would talk about it

i grew up getting my @ss whipped with a belt or,peach tree limb.i turned out just fine.then came the boomers and the southern baptist who said no spanking, now disobedience runs rampant.gangs and crime are up.kids get in their parents face and even attack their parents.
my kids never got their butts whipped cause they were all girls.they had manners and knew right from wrong.up bringing in the right way and a kid doesn't need punished.

you spank them with awooden paddle make sure its least 2 inches thick make them say sorry 20 times. also make sure to say sorry master mommy until they cry themselves to sleep.
Please excuse my statement it was a cruel joke making them stand up sounds very good timeout and other mental punishment works very well be creative as they get older spanking doesn't work unless you do it without harm the whole experience can make the feel self conscious and build a good conscious later in life from right and wrong if you want to spank them use a wooden spoon that could even break its all mental make them feel sorry and regretful for their action but dont be to strict lady.

you put him in his room for 15 minutes EACH TIME he screams, or yells at you (or anything else that he's mad at). If he won't stopp, you take away all of his electronics, and you say that he can't play with his friendz until he stopps pouting.....thats the wayy that all of the people i know do it...and its NEVER happened to me....but...what ever you do.....DO NOT, repeat NOT hit or smack a child. it is like....some one going up to you if you complain, or do something bad, and they smack you for doing that.....its like......making the kids think that you hate them...and you dont want that!!!

Yours Truely,

Miley

I used to work with a guy who would make his children kneel for a while, about 15 minutes.

It depends on what kind of violations he did. For instant, I'll beat his legs. I do it when he never listen to me and he did it for three times exceeding too much.

I don't like "spankings". I prefer time out and the grounding methods.
