Dogs - November 2007

This is my sister's dog. He lives at her boyfriend's house (she lives there, too) and yesterday they went into the backyard and saw his eyes like this. Do you know what could've happened? Something he ate, a bug bite? His eyes are pretty much closed shut, but he can still see a little bit. He has red bumps on his body, and there were flies all over him like he was...dying. They have another dog and nothing happened to her. She was fine. Any opinion helps us get closer to what happened to him. And yes, they did take him to the vet, but I forgot what they told me.

Hi. I took in a little kitten I found last week and we found out she has fleas. I bought some frontline plus for my greyhound but am not 100% sure on how to apply it because I have never had this problem before. I know its supposed to go in between the sholder blades behind the neck. Any other tips on how to apply it from people that have done it before? thanks

taking him to the vet is too expensive for me is there any other thing i can do (remedies, home treatments etc) to help him cuz i dnt want him to die

It's really sweet and doesn't bark, but the person we talked to when we were about to adopt it said that it was going to rip our furniture and stuff like that, cause border collies need a job to do. The people at the shelter said it was just scared, and thats why it seemed so shy and adorable, but it was like jumping up on the bench and stuff. I read online that, since it's a mix, it's instincts aren't that strong, so it might be different. So, were going back tommorow, and I need to know what it's gonna do once we bring it home, please :)

im confused everyone i've talked to say canned dog food and dry dog food is not a good source of food for dogs and they need fresh meat and veggies.

Her eyes are kind of a brown with yellow. Yes, yellow. No sarcastic remarks, please. She is a dull gray with shiny white feet, combo schnauser/poodle curls and coarse hair. Very smart puppy!!!!!

My Dog has been in heat close to three weeks and It seemed she was done until yesterday when she was around a Fixed male who tried to mount her and now it seems she's bleeding more than ever. If i keep her away from Males for the next week will she be done? or does it not matter? Oh and for any added info it is her first heat.

I recently just got my dog spayed about 3 weeks ago and she has been wanting to eat alot more and I have heard from three different friends that usually female dogs do gain alot of weight after they get fixed because of a hormone but then one person said that its un-true because as long as you keep your dog active .. she's not going to gain weight .. personal expierences would help. thank you in advanced.

my dog continually itches herself. she had fleas, but we've taken care of them and i brush her and examine her skin regularly. i havent seen any fleas for awhile. however she has been itching and biting her hips and tail lately, to the point where her tail is covered in scabs! i have tried to put medication on them, and try to keep her from itching, but she still does it. i havent found fleas in forever, so i dont think its them. any ideas on a dog skin condition?

mine cost $1,000!!! nd it's not even 100% pure but there's probaby only 8% of it that isn't. i guess the pet shop ripped me off >=[ but i still love my baby shih tzu!his name is pepper. wat's ur shih tzu's name? btw, the pet shop was gona sell him 2 me 4 $1,100 but he just automatically lowered.

She is a 2 week old boxer. I give her formula a few times a day and try to make sure she has time on a nipple but the difference in size is getting bigger. And I'm very worried. Any suggestion would be helpful.

My dog has extreme acute agoraphobia, and we have tried everything for him. We've tried anti-co evasive drugs, anti-anxiety medications and nothing seems to help other than letting him run around outside with a box over him.
