I have an almost 2 year old female pit bull. she is the most wonderful dog. she sleeps with me and always finds a way to get on the recliner with me. She gets along with my 3 other dogs and 3 cats and even though I've tried to keep her socialized she is animal aggressive, always has been. I have a fenced yard and walk her in the evenings. Recently, she lunged and snapped at a friend and wouldn't stop. It was like a totally different dog, really aggressive. I'm afraid she's become people aggressive. She is BIG, about 85 lbs. What would happen if she ever got loose? I thought about humane euthanization and being there with her at the end, but that thought makes me sick. However, if I take her to a shelter, I don't want her to spend a few weeks in a cage only to have them euthanize her all alone without me there. I thought about adoption but I can't be sure she'll be taken care of and not abused or fought. I don't know what to do. please help.

I have 4 dogs, 1 cat.. and I also pay for my moms dogs vet visits. In the last month I have spent $600 in vet bills. 3 of the dogs are due for their annual. My vet is very pricey, but I feel odd asking if I can get a discount. Should I? Is this common?

*I would have never ended up with this many animals.. but in the past year I have homed 2 emaciated dogs that were roaming my neighborhood.

He uses the pads most of the time. Then he will use different parts of the house. So I add a pad there, but he finds another place. I never yell at him for it, so he doesn't try to hide while he's doing it. But I can never catch him in the act and don't know what to do if I did.

I have two dogs that are 1 and 2 years old. They are with me in the house most of time. I work at home so they are used to my routine. Every other week, my stepkids are here. The dogs enjoy them, but they do things they NEVER do when the kids are not here. They chew up things, pee on the rugs even after being outside or going for walks, and try to get out of the yard. They only do these things when the kids are here. The kids play with them and treat them well, so I don't understand this behavior. Help!

I am looking for a family dog and was curious if any of you dog experts might have a suggestion. We have two kids ages 6,7. We have a fenced yard and are considering getting a dog. We need one that is good with children, trainable, and doesn't shed or drool too much - it would help if it could be taught to play fetch - the kids would love that. Not particular as to pure bred or not - am happy to search the pound and rescue one, but have nowhere to start as to what breed or breed-combination would best suit our needs. Any insight is appreciated - thanks!

I incurred a wound due to my dog's bite (on my point finger). It bled but i cleansed it with running water immediately. Then had wound medication. After a day the wound area feels numb and seems sore. But on the 2nd day, the sore lessened but the numbness is still there. Other than this wound area numbness, i feel perfectly well.

Does this mean i have to visit my local doctor ASAP? How many anti-rabies shots do i have to undergo?

When we bought the lab 1 1/2 months ago, we went through a highly reputated vet and the best in town(Jammu, India). He told us there are no problems keeping a pet, he told us these things-:

Will puppy train in 2days with this method- eed him on papers and dont let him go out of it till he relieves both the things.

Didnt tell us any single word about speration anxiety.
We researched a lot about dogs, gaurd dogs.We chosed Gsd, went in his office and he convinced us that labs are better than gsd's and guaard dogs.
Now he's ignoring us.

I love my Labrador but on these promises dad bought the pet, but the amount of problems he's creating... i have researched many techniques and trials to ease everything(peeing pooh in the house freely, running and biting after everyone). we play with him but cant all the day. Started crate training, cries in there.

I really love my pet, dont wanna give it back(papa's left it on me). I dont wanna give it away...
Kindly help, may change lives.

The father is AKC, but the mother is not. (which probably doesn't mean anything because the puppies aren't eligible for AKC registry). Full grown they weighh around 15-20 lbs. They are all snowy white in color.

Our 10 month old large breed dog was diagnosed yesterday with bilateral hip displasia. He needs both hips replaced which could cost between $6,000-7,000. He was adopted when he was 4 months old from an animal rescue center. We would appreciate any contacts or info on how to get his surgery cost donated. I think most families cannot afford this kind of cost, but there is no other option....he must have this surgery to have a humane life. All info is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I am dog sitting and the dog has a skin infection. I think he might be allergic to something. His back in the last 4 days has gotten worse. I had put Peroxide on it to help, but then left it alone thinking it would clear up. It has not. Its about 4"x4" on both side of his lower back/butt. The hair is gone and it looks like its eaten down a layer of skin.... Poor dog! Can I put anything on it to help. I have an appt for the Vet, but not until Saturday. I am waiting for the tech to call me back, any suggestions what it could be? or what to use on it. I know he probably needs antibiotic. Help

Hi I'm Kati!
Yesterday I got a 7 1/2 wk old puppy! His name is Scout. I love him already! OK well I thought I would begin letting him know what's what here from the start, so when he grabbed a napkin from off of the counter, I said, "no no!" and took it away. Of course, I replaced it w/ a chew toy. Then I threw the remains of the napkin, only to look back and find him chewing up more! So I repeated the "No!" And took them away, and gave him back his chew-toy. After I threw all the napkins, he had grabbed my shoe. I figured this meant he wanted to play, so I said, "No!" Sternly and gave him the toy taking away the shoe. Then I took him outside and started running around w/ him in my backyard. He liked that, but soon began to "do his own thing" again. He ran back to the door, and sat there barking. I let him inside again, but he just ran over and started to chew up a teddy-bear o' mine. I was so disgusted, I decided I'd have to put everything up. I put Scout ...

My puppy spends equal amounts of time inside and out. We only see fleas every once in a while, and it actually hasn't become a problem yet. I just want to go ahead and end it before it does. I found some shampoo that seems to work, but what about in the house? She's still pretty much a baby and chews on everything, so what's safe enough to use inside? Also interested in home remedies... Thanks!

I have a 75 lb. huskey who ate about 1/2 lb of various types of chocolate for halloween last night. Does anyone know if she is at risk for getting sick? She seemed fine this morning; however, we found out too late to induce vomiting. She ate the wrapers and all so I can't be sure exactly how much she ate.
