Hello,
I was just wondering if when a dog meets another dog of the same breed if they will recognize that there is something similar about them or if its just another butt to sniff. I have a rottweiler who has yet to meet another rottie, when he does will he realize ooh he's just like me?

Do you like them. Personally I love them to death and would love to own one. This ban is dumb. I would love to have a pit bull you meet be able to give you a kiss, and not through a mussel. I was around 2 pit bulls yesterday that were really friendly. I work with a dog rescue. They gave a lot of kisses and would never think about hurting anyone.

If you feel the same way I do, post how you feel or your experiences with these guys. Please don't say anything mean about these dogs!

The breeder I'm getting my yorkie from says she feeds her puppies 'Ol Roy. I prefer Iams, but I haven't had a toy breed in awhile.

I'm so screwed. I'm leaving the country for 2 weeks, my flight is in 8 hours and the dog sitter just called to cancel 10 minutes ago because she's busy. There is absolutely no one that I can leave my dog with. I've called everyone I know and they're all unavailable. So my only choice is to leave my dog in my room for 2 weeks. A friend of mine will drop by every morning just to change his water and give him his food. My dog will only have human contact for about 10 mintues a day. It sucks, but I have no other choice. Do you guys think it's alright to leave my dog like that for 2 weeks? Do you have any other possible suggestions?

My neighbor recently put her German Shepard to sleep when he was about twelve or thirteen and I had my Pomerian for at least fourteen years (I'm estimating). I was wondering why smaller dogs usually live longer than bigger ones. Does it have anything to do with genetics?

He still does not lift his leg to go pee. I tried bringing him to a tree to see if that would help but it doesnt. He has been around older dogs too, that lift their legs Im just not sure. Should I be worried about this? Is it normal?

My Shelti will only go to the bathroom in our backyard. Not even on a walk where most dogs like to "mark" Which is fine most of the time, but even if we are on a long walk he can't wait to get home to go into the backyard to pee/poo. I am worried that if we are to go away for the weekend he won't go to the bathroom.... any ideas?

I know this is a stupid question and I am truly embarassed to ask the vet when we go. But mom does not feed them only once a day now (teeth hurt ouch). So I have been supplementing as instructed by my vet. But how many times a day should I be feeding them. I have been feeding them 4 times a day and mom feeds them once sometimes twice, Frankly they are huge! Oh yes I have been feeding them puppy formula and puppy food thick paste like consistency.

My brother and I are in a disagreement. In the latest commercial for Kohl's "Candies" with Fergie she is seen with a dog. He says it's a Doberman but we have a Beauceron and I think it might be one of those since the style of cutting a Doberman's ears is like antennae rather than the more triangle cut in there. NOTE: Only comment if you know what a Beauceron is/ looks like! If you see it and you don't know then you will think it is a Doberman- they do look very similar. My male MinPin who is a 1 yr and a half will not walk properly on his leash. I don't know what to do.. I tried the walking in different directions when he pulls a different way..He's so little but is so strong. Well anyways, any suggestions on how to have him walk properly? I can't enjoy my walks..

she is still very very nervious (could it av been that when she first came 2 my home, Trixie attacked her?) About Trixie. She is a very jealous dog,and demands attention from every1, example T is on my knee and my daughter gives Holly or Jesse some attention Trix will growl and even attack the other dogs (if she's not kept in line) she has to be the centre of every1s attention AGAIN HELP. A fue years back she got into some antyfreeze and she went through treatment and every since she will throw up after she eats dry dog food but when i water it down shes fine. I can keep watering it down for her but thats a nusence and I don't want to do that any more is there anything i can do? I did have it so she wouldn't eat her dry food all at once and that seemed to stop her from throwing up but latly she just eats it all at once . What can i do to stop this?
