At the 6-8 week mark, your pups should start getting vaccinations. The early rounds are for things like parvo - so keep the young pups away from areas where other dogs are. Their mother's milk will protect them at first, but then they need vaccinations to play in the fields and such.
At about the 4 month mark, your vet will give your pups their rabies vaccinations. They need to be more mature for those shots. They will get another rabies shot the following year. If your vet uses a 3-year vaccination, after the second shot at the one year 4 month mark, your pups won't need another rabies vaccination until they are 4 years 4 months! However, some vets still prefer the annual rabies vaccine.
Now, if you are referring to the mother, hopefully she had her rabies vaccination well before she even became pregnant. If she's due for that shot, talk to your vet. It may be best she stop nursing (in about 6 weeks) before she gets her next rabies vaccination.

A rabies vaccination should NEVER be given before 16 weeks of age but 20 weeks or older is better and safer.
NO vaccinations of ANY kind BEFORE 8 weeks of age.
Please read up on the current recommended protocol as set by the AAHA/AVMA and ALL 27 vet schools.

Are you talking about a puppy or the mother?
A puppy will need a series of puppy vaccinations starting at around 6 -8 weeks and including a rabies shot between the ages of 4 - 6 months.
A mother dog should be vaccinated against rabies and receive a clean bill of health before being bred.

Not sure what this question is but if you're asking how long after your dog gives birth can she receive the rabies shot? My answer would be as soon as all her puppies are weened and no longer nursing off of her she could then receive the rabies shot.
If you question is when can your puppy first receive its rabies shot? My answer would be when it's 6 months old. That's when it can receive its first rabie shot.

Depending on which vet you go to, your puppy should start recieving it's first series of shots at 6wks, at approx 3 wk intervals depending on the vet more vaccines til approx 20wks. Your puppy can recieve it's rabies at 4mos or 16wks of age. And according to state laws- 1y or 3 yr rabies vaccines after the 1st rabies vaccine.

around 15 weeks, or about 3 1/2 months, but you should bring your puppy to the vet as soon as possible because there are also other shots that they should get.
