My dog is a German Shepard husky and I walk her all the time without a leash. She is 14 years old and is very slow. She never leaves my side when we walk and is very loyal. Today while walking my dog home from the park I had a young black man start yelling at me to put my dog on a leash. I didn't have one and he started talking about how he should start carrying a bb gun to go out to his car.

Then I encountered another guy who was giving me extremely dirty looks.

The whole time my dog was just walking by my side at the slow pace she walks. My dog has never attacked another human/dog in pretty much all its life (besides being a puppy) and I feel it deserves the respect to stay off her leash.

Opinions?

can't take our 1 year old female pitbull Annie with us because the BMW we drive is on the lease. Annie is soooo cute and we never leave her in crate for more than 14 hours. She poops on newspapers in the back yard. We've had her since she was 4 weeks and she rarely bites smaller dogs. We even have a book on how to "teach a dog funny party trix". Our neigbours 8 years old kid has volunteered to take her to a potty once a day, however, he asks for 5 dollars for the service. Is this a good price? We love our Annie so much, and we want only the best for her.
Looking forward to our vacation.

What should I do? Is he going to die? Is pooping (liquidy), and urining all over the house a symptom? It is like incontrolably that he goes everywhere. Is this just a reaction to the chocolate? my dog is a shih tzu and is 2 years old. he only ate a bar that was covered in chocolate but it was only a half a bar (dark chocolate). He weighs about 11.5 pounds. HELP!!!!!!!!

My dog ate something in the backyard this morning. He wouldn't let me get near him to see what it was. He's never done this before (granted he's only a year and a half). It looked to me like a bunny or squirrel (I saw gray fur sticking out of his mouth) but when he picked it up I heard a squeaky noise like a toy so maybe it's a mouse. I'm wondering if it was infected with a disease, can it pass to him? I crated him so I could watch him more closely and see if I need to take him in or it nature will take its course. I can't find any animal remains in the backyard. What, if any, disease can be passed from one animal eating a diseased animal? Anyone have a similar experience and what to share?

they have been asking us to get a dog for years and we've finally agreed to do so, but we're unsure what would be the best breed, looking for a smallish dog that's very affectionate as the youngest would cuddle him to death.

Hi there all. I posted recently regarding my dog with brown urine... We have been treating him with some medication and the urine is back to normal. however, he now has a cough and a thick nasal discharge. this is within the same week of brown urine (of which tests show it is not blood). do these symptoms add up to anything? many thanks to all who replied last time as well...

Im a night owl and hopefuly their are other ones with good answers because I have noticed with the questions I have asked you get tons of answers within minutes and not hardly any after a hour, my book Im writing to all you yahooooers aside , my adult and soon to move out daughter got a mixed breed pitbul and this dog will not ever ever relax it runs around my house like a kid that need ridlin , and it never ever quits bitting ,,, while it dont bite rabid like its getting big and its needle like teeth hurt like hell,, This dog is not trying to hurt and when its tired I can say kisses please and it gives them. Bigger concern my baby girl while she is 22 is getting ready to have her first baby and wont take my advice and find it a new home while its so cute, enough with me writing a storey any advice on wether the dog is nuts or not or a danger to my first grandchild would be greatly appreciated, any good answer will get a good rating , winning answer all the stars I can give.

I don't normally like her to be out there in the soil, getting dirty. but my dad let her out. My boyfriend and I tried calling her in. but for some reason, she wouldn't come. She just laid there and start crying. So we go to grab her, but she runs inside and huddles in a corner in my room. =(
I bring her back out to the living room to check to see if her gums are nice and pink, if she has any thing bleeding.. but not a thing. So we let her go and she hurries off to that corner.. I let her settle for a while until I sat with her. I would ask her what was wrong and she'd just cry. It's the first she's ever cried like that. (she's not crying, like screaming-crying, but just whining.. crying) So I take her into the bathroom because apparently that's where the best lighting is, and again i see NOTHiNG wrong with her. But I noticed she keeps licking 'herself'
Would it be because she's laying out in the soil or could she be pregnant? =\ Or could she just be acting up because i went out? hmm

How many of you out there have heard about the Spay/Neuter legislation running around the California legislature? It would require any dog or cat over four months old to be neutered. Only exceptions would be licensed breeders, police dogs and service dogs. What do you think?
I read in the paper that the AKC has come out against it. It said the AKC, for the first time in its history, is forming a Political Action Group to fight this legislation. They have said they may pull their second largest dog show out of Long Beach. This could cost the LA area as much as 30 million dollars in lost revenue.
Do you think they have the clout to pull this off?

When do you know when your puppy is ready to start drinking regular drinking water? He spent 4 days at the vet on iv, and now he is at home and ive been force feeding him pedylite , he hates it . Hes also getting subcatanous fluids at the vet everyday , but still i need to supervise hes intake 24 hours a day. The other day while bathing him he started drinking the fossette water , only gave him a couple of licks . He wont drink pedyalite on hes own . Since i got him to eat small portions of food now , what can i give him to drink on hes own ? Is gatorade as good as pedyalite ? Is it safe to give him regular water , and also give him pedylite? ive tried mixing it but no luck . Ofcourse ill be monitoring all hes water intakes i dont want to over hydrate the poor little pup?

I've been crate training my 8 month old yorkie/westie mix and she'd been doing perfect until a few weeks ago when my cousin "forgot" to let her out to pee. Now, she keeps on peeing in her crate even if i only keep her there just to run to the store! Someone please help, as I bought the crate so I wouldn't have to clean anything up anymore... and now it's pointless!
