I am trying to decide on a name for my Great Dane kennel. I had previously used the kennel name "Daisyhill Great Danes". My very first, and most wonderful, Dane was named Daisy, hence the name Daisyhill. I have registered a few other Danes under this kennel names about 10 years ago.

I am getting back into Danes again, and although the kennel name "Daisyhill" has a lot of sentimental value, I don't know if it's a very professional name. My other options are Copper Creek Danes or Copper Mountian Danes. Should I honor my beloved Daisy and keep "Daisyhill", or change to a Copper kennel name?

My Puggle is one year old and was put on Prednisone for an allergic skin problem. He has never taken this medication before and he's been on it for a week now and we are beginning to wean him off of it. I am worried because he has always been full of energy and very loving. Since he began taking this medication he is totally different. He seems very moody and all he does is sleep and when he is sleeping he doesn't cuddle like he ALWAYS has in the past. I know they said it may cause him to be more hungry and thirsty but I am scared that he won't go back to the same dog he was before he took the meds. Has anyone experienced anything similar with their dog? Any suggestions or reassuring words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your feedback.

its actually better then wellness, canidae and other good natural foods

so why are people saying its bad?

it gets so bad she actually screams in pain at times. she is only 1 year old and i took her to the vet he said she is to young to have neck issues and told me it was muscular and it will go away, and he gave me tramadol and rimidyl for the pain. In the last two weeks she has gotten worse and the pain medicine isn't working anymore, she doesn't even want to move around when i come home or play at all... i let her rest but anytime she gets up she crys... all the tests that she will have to have done will add up to about 2000 bucks i can't afford it... what do i do???

I was watching a show on Animal Planet, I think it was called 'Breed All About It' and it was about Giant Schnauzers. I saw a fancier and breeder on this show and she had a kennel full of show dogs, retired champions, puppies, etc. My point being she was a serious dog fancier and dedicated to her breed of dog. She talked about what she fed her dogs and she said it was raw chicken with bones and that bones are fine for dogs as long as they aren't cooked ( chicken bones are different when raw, cooked they can splinter in the dogs throat because they become dryer) and the cameras were rolling when she was feeding her dogs this.
Now I am reading on here that raw chicken is not okay to feed dogs. I have fed raw chicken to my dogs before, they love it and I never had a problem. I am not currently feeding them anything but commercial dog food. So which is it? This woman seemed to really know what she was talking about and had all those show dogs, it sounds like she could be right.

My dog is a small white pomeranian/pekingese mix. He is 2 years old. I gave him a bath yesterday, and today, I noticed that he smelled very stinky. His body doesn't smell; only his ears do. So I know that I could just wash his ears...but I've heard that you shouldn't get water into your dog's ears, in fear of infection. Are there any other home methods I could use to clean his ears thoroughly? Thanks. Serious answers only please.

Do dogs understand what it means when you kiss them? I've been told that they don't, and one of the main reasons kids are bitten by dogs is because they kiss them. But I've also been told that dogs can sense the affection in a kiss.

so we found this dog, we thought she was a stray bcause she was so skinny and her nails are like an inch long. So we decided to keep her. She looked like she was unowned for the longest time. We named her drop dead fred, aka fred or fredrica. So 2 days later, i was walking her and a girl came up to me and said "thats my dog!" she said she lost it 2 days befor, and thats when we saw her. So she took her home. she said if anything comes up and they can't keep her they'd give the dog to us and we agreed. But fred, or meena, eats really well. So they must not feed her much. i mean u can c her back bone!!!!!! And her nails are soo long!! so she clearly wasn't taken to the vet. She's not taken care of and she's only a baby. (she's a chihuahua) If they can't take care of it, they shouldn't have it. What shouldi do???? PLEASE HELP!!! i love animals and i'll do everything i can to help them!!! so please help us!!

I am talking about those prongy training collars. I, personally, have never used one, but have seen them being used on dogs being walked. They look painful. Do they just look this way and really aren't? Am I missing something here?
