My puppy is a bichon frise and she is always begging for a piece of chicken. She weighs 5 lbs 3 ounces and I want to know if it will be harmful to her if I give her a piece of chicken.

The best you can do for your dog. 50% ground chicken with innards and cartallige in 25% ground well ripe veggies 25% ground well ripe fruit 3 raw eggs a week 2-3 cans of sardeens a week Acidophilus, extra Omega 3-6-9 acids oils Works miracles for ANY dog with problems or not. Extra veggies and fruit dayily as treats. If you try this, you will never look back.

It is the bones in chicken that are the danger to dogs so as long as you remove them it will be fine. Any cooked bone will break into sharp pieces and can lodge in an animals throat so avoid leaving cooked bones in anything you feed to your animal. Raw bones are fine generally, although some can also lodge in the throat, check with your vet if unsure.

Chicken is ok as long as it is cooked well first. If you are looking to feed your dog natural foods, then you should check out this dog food recipe book.

feeding your dog chicken is fine. as long as the chicken isn't cooked it is fine. if it is (cooked), then make sure the chicken you feed your dog is deboned as cooked chicken bones (or any bones for that matter) can splinter in your dog's mouth and that wud cause a whole lot of other issues for you.

Hi honey. It is fine to give your puppy chicken as long as you:

***cut it up into tiny little pieces
***add about a tablespoon of fresh water
***mix the tiny pieces of chicken in the tablespoon of water and feed to your puppy as a "treat".

Great treat. DONT allow your puppy to eat ANY BONES FROM CHICKEN....AS THEY WILL SPLINTER IN HER STOMACH AND CAUSE SEVERE DAMAGE.

TAKE ALL CHICKEN OFF THE BONE AND CUT IT UP SO YOU CAN SEE THERE ARE NO BONES.

great QUESTION! Blessings, Patti

No it won't actually hurt her but be careful as if you give her chicken to often she may look for the chicken or any special treat over dog food.

Boiled chicken (not fried) is fine for dogs. Fried chicken can give your pup loose stools. Don't give your pup any raw chicken, though, because there is the possibility of her being affected by salmonila poisoning.

yes, yes YES!!! Feed raw and with the bones in - wings, necks and backs are great!

More and more people are feeding their pets on a diet based on raw meaty bones. It is not dangerous or difficult but part of your dogs natural diet. They (and your wallet) will thank you for it.

I've heard foods like 'boiled chicken and boiled brown rice' mentioned when talking about food for dogs besides the commercial brands of dog food.
