What are your opinions on a West Highland Terrier?

I was thinking about getting another dog. And I thought that these little westies were very cute. I was wondering if they are very good dogs to have.

I love West Highland Terrier! West Highland White Terriers are usually described in the standard as being "possessed of no small amount of self-esteem with a varminty appearance." This game and hardy little Terrier is easy to train. They are lively and extremely self-assured toward other dogs. Robust, friendly, cocky and spunky. Westies just love companionship. Despite its size, they make a very good watchdog. These little dogs are easy to travel with. The Westie likes to dig and bark.

They are very nice and the ones I've met have been really sweet. They are terriers and some can bark a lot (my friend had one named Barkley). They like to chase things. Be careful with Westies and get one from a good breeder--they are known for their tendencey to develop terrible skin allergies.

My friend had two. One died of old age. They were such sweet dogs! She spent a lot of money on one because he had skin problems. but then... so many dogs do, depending on where they live. But as far as temperament goes, they were great pups!
