My dog wakes up every night at around 3:30ish goes outsides sometimes poops and then she is awake for the morning. If I try to put her back in her crate (which is in the bedr'm) she cries bloody murder. I always end up taking her downstairs and sleeping on the couch with her be/c this way both my fiance and I get some sleep, but I know she is training me! Please give me some advice on her to get her to sleep through the night. I am ok with her getting up around 5:30 or so its the 3 :30 thats hard.
Heres her basic schedule
My pup is home alone during the day and when I get home I take her for 30 -40 minutes walk and we play and run around in the house afterwards. I feed her around 5ish. I try to get her outside for a walk at night, but it doesnt always happen (she will be let out in the yard several times in the evening)

First of I know she's got me trained, I just need to learn how to untrain her 1) without being cruel 2)without going crazy from lack of sleep

thanks

hi. i have a 5-month old pug, and his name is terryl. he just had his anti-rabies shot and the problem is my brother, who didnt know that the dog had a vaccine shot, gave him a bath. now, terryl is weak, and not his usual playful self. i went to the vet to have him examined, and the doctor said he was stressed and had a slight fever. terryl had been injected a medicine to ease the fever. but then he had a terrible reaction from the medicine; his face swelled horribly. i brought my puppy back to the vet on that same day and the vet injected something to counter the allergic reaction. it has been a week, he still has an appetite, albeit weak. his medication included prednisone tablet, 5mg, half a tablet once a day up to four days and amoxicillin 1ml, 3 times a day.

i wonder if my baby terryl will ever be the same again. will you give me some advice? i'm really worried. am i giving him the right medicine? what should i have done, and what should i haven't?

My parents are considering getting me a puppy (6-9 weeks) for my birthday, but their main argument is how I'll take care of it while I'm at school. Can you think of any reply?

OK...I have these two dogs, and I was just wondering about the ramifications of feeding them raw ground beef (fresh) versus cooking it. Is it harmful when it is raw. I've always cooked it...but now I'm wondering. Any advice would be appreciated.

When I was in school, there was a house right next to it - and every day I would walk past and there was a dog that looked EXACTLY like a Rough Collie (otherwise known as Lassie) only she was half the size - fully grown. What type of dog was she? She was absolutely gorgeous.

I had him for about a month now. I need to know what food is healthier for him than Wall-mart food. I'm working on getting him healthy. He is on the heavy side. His last owners fed him table scraps. He is still getting over heart worm treatment.

Base of his tail. He does not have fleas. This behaviour has happened off and on for the past 3 weeks, however he has become worse today by biting until he bleeds.

I have used advantage in the past and have had no problems with it, however, in the last couple of weeks my 2 dogs have had dozens of tiny ticks. There was sod laid about 3 or 4 weeks ago and I am assuming that the ticks are coming from there. There is nothing else that is new or different in our neighborhood . Anyway, I switched to Frontline as it is supposed to kill ticks along with the fleas. It has been a week since I treated them and I am still finding a couple of tiny ticks and the dogs are scratching like they have fleas as well. What do I do. Can I add advantage since that has always worked on the fleas or is it too soon, and what do I do about the ticks ?

The puppy does it so quickly...she walks up to it, sniffs it and then eats it. If you catch her before the act, as when she sniffs it we tell her no and kaka and bad but she still eats it. Then we punish her but not like a really bad spanking.

I have a 2 yr old dog and I just recently took her for her yearly rabies shot and the vet talked me into getting this DHLP vaccine. I just found out that I have to take her back in for 2 more follow up shots. What I wanted to know is, how necessary is this shot? My last dog I had for 17 years and I never had to give this shot too. I am kind of strapped on cash and this is going to cost me 50 dollars each for the next two visits. Thanks..

A black lab came to my house and was hanging around. It is going to be very cold so I brought him in. He is seems to be a great dog. He didn't have a collar on but I can tell he is healthy and seemed to be taken care of. I am going to post flyers to see if he is wanted. But my husband and kids really took to him. What should I do??

If you get bit by a mangy stray, and it breaks the skin, and you go to the ER, what do they do to you? What kind of shots do they give you? How often do you change the bandages? Do they keep you overnight? Please help!

note~ I didn't get bit by a dog, this is research for a book.

In the future I want to get a med.-large active breed that I can take hiking with me and swimming. My sister says it's wrong that I want a large active breed because if I rescue a dog it shouldn't matter what breed/size it is. The way I look at it, I wouldn't get a Westie (no offence to Westie owners) to go hiking, but she doesn't see it like that. I'm looking more like Lab, German Shepherd, Pit or any mix thereof.

My German Shephard drags his right hind leg. I was told that this could be hip displasure. Just what is hip displasure and what cause it...He is not overweight and ll months old. When he runs he drags his leg and he seems to walk only short distances and sits down. He is playful, barks, and runs with his sister dog that is somewhat smaller in size. He is about 90% shepherd and yet looks 100%. His sister is probably 70% shepherd and30% retriever or whatever...
