A ***** is in heat for 21 day and only days 9-13 they are bredable. The dog smells a scent given off by the female and that is what he is attracked to. When the right time for the female to be bred the scent is stronger. So you might not be at the right time of her cycle. Keep trying if you want them to breed. Good luck

That's actually a good thing. Do you have any idea how many labs there are in shelters needing homes? Why add to that problem with more badly bred labs.
Considering that you don't know anything about breeding 2 dogs ( and it's not rocket science here ) I think you should have them both fixed and forget adding to the over populated shelters.

Oh man, your male could have something really wrong with him. You should get him neutered right away and reduce the risk of anything bad happening. He's not into the ladies anyway, right? Might as well prevent cancer.

He's a smart dog because he knows that dogs are overpopulated in the shelters. That's why he doesn't want to breed. So please neuter him. Sometimes when a female is not ready for breeding, males will show no interests.
