Contact a vet ASAP!
Chocolate causes similar problems to caffeine and affects the nervous system. 1 ounce per pound of body weight is a dangerous level.
These are the signs of toxicity:
Hyper excitability
Hyper irritability
Increased heart rate
Restlessness
Increased urination
Muscle tremors
Vomiting
Diarrhea

If you can induce vomiting it gets it out of his system quicker. The half life is about 18 hours and usually diarrhea will start within 12 hours.

Since Kit Kat's aren't solid chocolate it's less likely to be an issue. But I would still call a vet or animal hospital and ask them whether they think you should bring him in.

Unless she is a little dog (ie: chihuahua), probably you won't have any more problems than an urpy tummy and some diarrhea.

Chocoate is not good for dogs, but it depends on what kind of chocolate they eat. The worst kind is baking chocolate - it has a higher concentration of theobromine in it. Dark chocolates are next. Milk chocolate has much less of the theobromine in it.

We typically will make them vomit if they have eaten it within the last 2 hours. If you notice restlessness, increased heart rate, panting, or severe agiation (sort of like people on a caffeine high), then you need to see your vet.

No, just watch her. Kit Kat bars are wafer cookies coated lightly in chocolate, they are not all chocolate. Also, it is dark chocolate that is the most dangerous to dogs, Kit Kats are milk chocolate which is not very harmful, but its still not good to give it to your dog.

It depends on what size dog you have. also I don't think it will be a problem the worst chocolate is bakers chocolate and I think its because of the higher precent of natural cocoa in it. Milk chocolate has the lowest precent of cocoa in it. If you still feel un easy about try making your dog vomit.
I used to give my dog m&ms all the time until I read that its posionus. But since its milk chocolate I can't help but give him at least one when I enjoy a pack.

I have always heard that if a dog eats chocolate they are going to die, but my dogs have all eaten bars of chocolate and lived. They had pretty bad diarrhea, but no near death experiences.

No, she is NOT going to die. Now, if she were regularly fed chocolate as a 'treat' on a daily basis she would begin to develop health problems... but that's not the case. Relax, she's fine.

why do people say that, its not good to MAKE your dog throw up! yes dogs can die from chocolate, but for the most part they just get sick! if the kitkat was made with real cocoa then yes its very bad. look at the kitkat wrapper. i would keep a good eye on her and watch how she is acting, if she is sick then take her to the vet. (she will have diarhea.) good luck.
