Do you mean vasectomy rather than castration? This would make a bit more sense than removing only one testicle :) only a bit though.

Why?
You would only remove the capability but not the desire to breed. You would still get the 'intact' behaviours and associated risks.

Don't you want your spouse to know you had his dog fixed? LOL

If you can find a vet that will vasectomize your dog sure.

But then you lose out on all the benefits of neutering. Your dog will still roam, he'll have a high chance of prostrate problems, and he'll still be able to get testicular cancer.

With neutering the urge to roam is greatly reduced, he'll have no chance of getting testicular cancer, and his chances of prostrate issues is greatly reduced.

All those benefits will help your dog live a long happy life.

Have him neutered.

Uh.. WHAT? Neutering is desexing an animal so it can't breed. You either do it, or you don't. There's no "halfway". If you removed one testicle a dog could still produce sperm and impregnate a female. So what would be the point of that? If you think it's not "manly" to get your dog neutered then you have other issues that your might want to talk to a therapist about.

No, why would you want to do that. If you left only one testicle it would work almost double to supply the lack of testosterone and sperma after the lost of his "pair", so there's no point in such intervention.
