I would go to a local dog show. I actually own a Bull Terrier. She is deaf, which is common for the breed.

Do a lot of research and talk to owners. Unfortunately this is not the breed for everyone. Currently they are the dog of choice for puppymillers and backyard breeders. Mine was rescued as a pup running loose in Chicago. My daughter's BT was rescued as a pup in inner city Detroit. Try Petfinder:

Bull Terriers really need to be the only pet in the household.

The best thing to do is to go to a local dog show and talk to people. They may be able to help you with finding a breeder, and possably know someone who has puppies or is planning on breeding in the near future. But before you do, read LOTS of books on the breed and do your homework. This way you know what questions to ask and don't be afraid to ask lots of questions! PS DO NOT buy your puppy online. A lot of those sites that actually sell the puppies online are puppy mills. It's ok to research online sites, but you want to go see your puppy, where it is being raised, and who is raising it. This helps ensure that you will have a healthy pup.

www.akc.org and get the list of the "parent club for bull terriers",,,, from that site you can get a list of breeders,, then start making calls, going to visit the breeders etc... also find out where there are some dog shows in your area and go there and watch the bull terrier ring and speak with breeders and exhibitors there.... that is your best bet.

The web is a good start...but you don't get any sense of whether the eventual dog owner is satisfied. Rather than searching for breeders, have a real conversation with dog owners and trainers...email them (search online), call them on the phone (use the yellow pages or online search), or stop by a kennel or training place. People are always happy to talk about dogs (especially their own dogs and how they found them!), and are usually happy to help. Word of mouth is a really reliable way to find a breeder; that way you get information and real opinions. If someone says they don't know any breeders, ask them whether they know anyone/place who might. I've gotten some really good help from completely random dog groomers, trainers and owners. Good luck with your search!

Contact the "Kennel Control Council" or similar organization that registers pure bred dogs. They will be able to tell you where and what breeders are in your area, and which ones do the breed you want.
Or you could try and look up "Bull Terrier" Clubs and they can refer you to breeders too.

The best way is to locate a breed club, and ask for a referral to a breeder in your area.

There are several sites that allow families to list their puppies for sale. Here are just some of the ones that I know of.

www.mypuppypatch.com
www.nextdaypets.com
www.livedeal.com
www.puppyfind.com

We have purchased 3 puppies online and we have had very good success each time. Our puppies have all been wonderful, healthy and everything that we had hoped for. The families that we worked with were very nice and knowledgable.

I just want to add to back to work:

Once you do that and you find one check with their animal control officer. See how good they really are. They should have a glowing recomendation from the local shelter and law enforcement.
