I looked up a picture of a Beauceron and they look stockier than the dog in the commercial. Or maybe it was just that one picture? But I found another thats ears are different than the one on that commercial.
Hmm. Tough call. I'd say Doberman though.

I completely agree with you concerning what you said about the ears. That what my biggest problem when I saw the video... the ears were definitely Beauceron-like since Doberman's tend to have much longer cropped ears--but the body shape was definitely a Doberman's.
So, I'd say it's a Doberman Pinscher.

That is 100% a Doberman. No question about it. That is a style as well for Dobermans that is coming around more now with the shorter cropped ears. Showing off a more aggresive look. It is going for the same shape as the Pitbull. Your brother is right. Probally the first time ever a guy was right over a girl!!

Actually, a Beauceron is a much more long-haired, compared to the Doberman in the video, because that dog in the video has a much more smoother coat, and is much skinnier. They have a similar coat and color pattern, but diffrent body structure, and coat density.

While I believe Beaucerons are GREAT and unique dogs, it is a Dobie in the commerical.
As a matter of fact, when I saw it the first time I jumped up like I'd sat on accident on a cactus (LOL - could not think of anything else, and since I liven AZ...) and yelled "OH, oh! There's a Dobie in that commercial!"
Dobies are my breed. I love, own, train and rescue/rehabilitate them.
About those ears: Unfortunately not every great Dobie was blessed with a vet who knew how to do good Dobie ears (Personally I prefer them natural. Our Dobies got their ears done before we adopted them).

It's definitely a Doberman in the commercial.
Beaucerons are chunkier, and have more of a shepherd type conformation. While they have the same coloration they are not built the same.
Here's a bunch of photos of Beaucerons:
http://images.google.com/images?q=Beauceron&hl=en&pwst=1&um=1&sa=X&oi=images&ct=title
And here are photos of Dobermans:

Compare the two and you'll see that in the commercial the dog has the trim, lean look of the Doberman.

No doubt in my mind that that is a Doberman. A Bauceron has longer hair, and is less lean than the Doberman. The Doberman has a thinner structure, and that's what made me very certain.

That's for sure a doberman- no way it could be a Beauceron.
It's too lean and has too long of a snout to be a Beauceron.
