I currently use BlueBluff dog food. The website www.dogfoodanalysis.com is great. Please only respond about these brands. Or, if you know of another brand of greater or equal value, please say so.

Does anyone simply cook their dog's food from scratch? Pros and cons with this approach?

He is a 2 yr old boxer. he broke the front door and darted out into traffic. We took him to the vet a block away and they took x rays. he has bruised lungs and ribs. He has pulminary contusions??? Hes alert and eating, even barked when a neighbor came to check on him, my only concern is his breathing. His breathes are shallow and very short. he really seems to be struggling with every breathe. The vet said just keep an eye on him the next 24 hrs are critical but he may be just sore. Has anyone experience the same situation?

I have a 5 yr old German Shepherd with a very sensitive stomach. She's had diarrhea on and off since I got her 3 months ago. I read a natural foods magazine about raw diets and it sounded great, so I started by giving her one pound of a high quality raw ground beef, and she had horrible diarrhea for days. That scared me from going raw and now I don't know what to do (keep her on dry food or ?) If you feed your dog raw, has it actually lengthened their life span?

Say you had a dog that was out of hand. You couldn't go and feed or love him without him attacking you, clawing you to death or tripping you up on his runner. You already cut your hand once due to him making you fall, bruised your hip due to him walking you on the leash and made you slam into the car. Thats right you can't control him on the leash. He takes off and drags you. Okay you have done all you could to correct him, but he still acts this way what would you do?

A. Take him to the Animal Shelter were you know he will be killed in 2 months due to down here the pets do NOT get adopted out that much. You know this due to you had taken three of your mom's dogs there last year and when you called to check up on them you were told that they were put to sleep two months later due to not enough space to keep holding them.

B. Or take him to a high class neighborhood and drop him off?

What would you do and why?

The dog is in a fenced in yard, He is very friendly. We took the cat to the vet and it died while we were there. We talked to the wife and apologised but the husband was outraged. The wife said that they had a discussion on letting the cat out that morning or not and the husband said it was ok. We have been living here for ten years and this is a first. They want to get my dogs taken away from me, Can they do that? even if it happend in my yard? Please help me!!!

I hit my friend's pet dog. It was a german shepherd, so it made a pretty huge splatter mark on my car, and definetly killed the dog. She doesn't know it was me, should I confess? AAHHH!!!

I just noticed that my dog chipped one of his teeth. He isn't acting strange or pawing his face and he still has his appetite. He is acting completely happy and normal. Should I take him to the vet?

We are now dealing with the sudden death of our 8 year old German Shepherd and have given a lot of thought about how much joy he gave us on a daily basis; we have lost a best friend and hiking partner.
If you have a dog, give him or her a big hug just because you can.

Hmmm, well here goes.

I have a dog of Mastiff breed called Scruffy.
I choose not to walk him, because frankly I cannot be bothered nor do I have the time.

I only really brought him to go with my image.
(You know, sit in front of the fire with a dog curled up aside you)

But my question is;

Is feeding him three times a week enough?
I know nothing about dogs so any help would be appreciated!
Also do I need to give him water or will he find that himself?

I want a small, friendly, frisky, intelligent dog. I like dogs that will look you in the eye, and pay attention, not ones that always seem to be distracted by something else.

My ideal dog would like to hike with me (I can make weekend trips to some great hills), does not shed, is not aggressive or mean, and is good looking (as opposed to the dogs that are "so ugly they're kind of cute".

I like cocker spaniels, but don't know much about them. I've seen c.ock-a-poos, and other mixes, but I don't know if they enjoy being outdoors and walking a lot.

Importantly, I need a dog that doesn't weigh much more than 20 pounds maximum. I want to be able to lift him up without killing my back.

What do you think is the best dog for me? (I live in a city where the summers aren't too hot, and winters have only occasional cold days).

I live in an apartment where there are no parks close by. I would probably have to walk a good twenty minutes to get to one.

....I just bought the Hartz 4 in 1 for fleas and the directions say to apply on the dog's back between the shoulder blades and move along the dog's back to the base of the tail. It doesn't say anything about rubbing it in, or putting it anywhere else. I checked the website but I couldn't find any answers. Have you ever used this & is this the way to apply it? Seems kinda useless if it's just going down the spine of their back & nowhere else??? Thanks!
