or is the German rottweilers all there is ? and which kind is the largest?

Your right there is a German Rottweiler http://www.importrottweiler.com/1aapasha.jpg and this is a american rottweiler http://www.acostarottweilers.com/CRCbody.jpg they are basically the same breed except they come from different areas

There is only one breed of rottweiler....although some call some german or american the only difference is where they were imported from...so my rottie could be called a canada rottweiler lol...the only variations are some are more leggy and slim and people call those american rotties and some are more blocky and built like tanks which people tend to refer to as german...I read a article on this that the german breeders breed very very specific for a certain rottie body shape the more built, blocky dog...but there is no different type of rottie they are all the same just some have pooer quality breeding which results in poor looking rotties.

There is only one breed called the Rottweiler. The breed originated in Germany. I think what you are referring to is the fact that people sometimes refer to there particular Rottie as being German or American. This generally refers to if the dogs close ancestors come from Germany or the US. However some people just consider the heavier build Rotties German Rotties and the lighter built ones American Rotties regardless of there ancestry.

One kind of rottweiler, but the AKC standard may differ a bit from the German standard.
