i will be switching to a goods dog brand once we finish up pedigree. which ones do you recommend? i was at the pet shop the other day and they were promoting nutrience dog food. now i had never heard of nutrience so i knew it couldnt be good dog food but they said to me thats its the same as innova. after checking the ingredients, i pointed out to them all the corn meals and everything and you should've seen their faces. they were like ****, this girl knows her dog food!
it was so funny
anyway, just wanted to tell you that. which one do you recommend?

Last night, my ,9 year old black lab-golden retrever, dog was barking. I didnt think much of it cause he does it whenever he sees something. However, when i let him in the house the next morning, he was slow to get in. He can't look up now for some reason. (unless he is sitting down) when he was laying down and i was next to him and called him, instead of lifting his head up, he just shifted his eyes to me. he is having trouble getting up, and only wants to lay down. Is he sick or did something bad happen to him? I will appreciate any sort of help.

We have a small dog who is about 2 yrs old.. we found him wodering the streets (a year ago). When we take him out for walks or just to the store and he sees other dogs he cries. He is the only dog we have at the moment and I think he is just lonely and needs a friend but we can't afford another dog at the moment.. when we get home is gets overly excited.. we give him a lot of attention and we play with him all the time, take him for walks... so why does he cry when he sees other dog's???? is he lonely???

My dog doesn't go outside often. Since then he has gotten this bump on the back of his neck. It's heals and scabs fine, but it continues to not heal completely. My dog can't go outside b/c we aren't allowed to have dogs, but is fully trained to use pee pads. Does anyone one think that's his skin is drying out b/c he doesn't go outside often? I feel he scretches the area and that's why it won't heal. Any thoughts?

My beautiful black lab mix, whom I love dearly, is driving me insane! We just paid A LOT of money a week ago to get her spayed and ever since then she has been sneaking off to chew up anything and everything she can! She's alittle over a year old and didn't even destroy things this bad when she was a pup.
What could be bothering her so bad to make her so distructive?
She's not usually like this so thats why I think it might be a phsycological thing with her. Something must be bothering her. Could it be from getting her spayed? Could she be mad at me for something?
I'm at a loss with her. She's driving me crazy... She sneaks off to chew up slippers or my daughter's toys all the time.
This morning alone, she had chewed up a candle and a rope light (that was unplugged) and some trash that I have yet to find where it came from! Just this morning!
What should I do?

I got a new black lab mix puppy about 1.5 months ago. He was sort of a hand me down pup. Someone gave him to this girl then the girl gave him to me because he was too much of a handful for her to take care of. Since I have no kids or anything of that matter I welcomed the idea of having a pup. I am pretty sure he needs his shots but taking him to a vet is too expensive. Is there another way I can get his shots? Can I self administer his shots? Any help would be welcomed.

My yr old doxie broke her leg about 2 weeks ago. This is her second splint. I am taking her to the anyway tomorrow to get her splint taken off andher leg xrayed. The last time she got her splint replaced, the vet warned us that it was getting too wet and so he closed it off at the bottom, covering it as part of the splint. (From shoulder to bottom. We would cover it with a plastic garbage bag too)

We came home on Friday to find she had chewed off the bottom of her cast so the pad of her foot was exposed. We tried to cover it as best we could, and she has an e-collar on, but if shes unattended for any amt of time, she licks at it. It had a strange odor this morning and I checked it, it is red, swollen. Looks puffy and sore. And she keeps licking. Ive covered it with a sock to distract her. The pads look puffy like a teddy bear paw. And it smells damp.

Can I wait until tomorrow (monday) morning first thing to get her to a vet or should I rush her to emergency now? Or what can I do now?
