Choose whichever one the dog has been on, take the lower end of the recommended feeding quantity, reduce it by 10% and put the remainder in a big bowl. Feed that as 3 meals a day plus treats and feed nothing else. When the bowl is empty, that is it for the day.
If you take the dog out for more exercise than he normally gets and reduce his daily intake a bit, that should be enough for him to lose a little weight during that time. You do not want to drastically cut his intake or change his food abruptly.
For weight reduction, it is better to feed a home cooked diet that does not have all the chemicals and additives and carbohydrates that are in kibble but simply reducing the calories in and increasing the calories out will do the trick.

Neither of those are the best choice for any dog, especially an overweight one.
The best way to lose weight, regardless of kibble brand, is to reduce foot intake, and increase exercise.
I suggest for the two weeks you have the dog, reduce her kibble intake by 40% each day, and add on at least one extra walk a day, if not two.
If she gets no exercise, you need to start offering her that daily, and tell her original owners they too need to start walking her.
A better food for maintaining weight would be one with better ingredients overall, something like Merrick or Canidae.
Iams and Pedigree are chock full of fillers and other junk that offer no true nutritional value to any dog.
Also, when a dog needs to lose weight, a trip to the vets is always in order to make sure you can do so safely and accurately for the dog's wellbeing.

Neither food is a good choice. Both are low quality grain laden foods. You can do a lot better with a good quality food such as Canidae, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul, Wellness, Innova, Solid Gold just to name a few.

Pedigree and Iams are crappy foods, full of fillers, by-products, dyes, etc. ALL grocery stores brands are full of garbage.
Please go to this site and try to find something rated high like 4-6 to feed the dog. This site will tell you the ingredients and why they gave the dog food it's rating.

Also another reason why you shouldn't feed the dog Iams or Eukanuba www.iamscruelty.com

Chosing between those are like humans deciding between McDonald's or Burger King to live off of. :P
If you have a pet health food type store I'd suggest going there and talking with someone who can show you the right way to go. A great brand is Origin, I dunno if its only a Canadian brand tho.
