Keep the dog. They didn't want it in the first place or take care of it what makes them think they can this time around? Ignore them, it's your dog now.

They abandoned the animal. They didn't come back for 2 months. If it wasn't for you taking the dog in he would have died. Let them no that animal abandonment is a crime and that is what they did. You have your bills from the vet and proof of how you cared for the pet. Even if they would take you to court or vice versa I doubt they would win, they have no proof that they have been "caring" for this animal. They wouldn't even have receipts for dog food since they never fed it in 2 months time. Get statements from neighbors stating they haven't been seen in the neighborhood for 2 months. Is it a house or apartment they were living? Is the house/apt abandoned also or are there new people in the house? You deserve to keep the dog as he deserves to have a family like yours who truly love him.

In the UK, posession is 9/10ths of the law and who says the dog you have is theirs anyway ? Do they have any proof? They clearly did'nt want the dog 2 months ago and they definitely should not get it back. Worst case senario - send them a bill for board, lodgings, food and vets fees, it's most unlikely that they will pay up. Good luck, this dog deserves to live with you.

keep the dog they dropped it off and you have been taking care of it. They probably want it back now that you have put all the money into giving it shots. Refuse to give the dog back it they take you to court or anything make sure you have all the vet records showing you have been taking care of the dog and they abanded it.

Well, you should have called the humane society or spca when you got the dog but you have 2 months of records from said dog, vet visits, registered ect so that LEGALLY makes the dog yours. DO NOT give them the dog, if they want it badly enough they can sue you BUT I doubt a judge would side with them

DONT GIVE THEM THE DOG!!!!

make sure you have all the receipts for the dogs care, report them to the SPCA and Humane Society and then tell the previous owners, "Take me to court". With your receipts and records if the Judge is in his/her right mind they will give you custody of the dog. Good Luck

Don't, under any case, give the dog back. If they are going to be irresponsible and abondon it keep it. If they are getting frusterated and really want the dog back talk to the police or animal shelter or something.

Keep that dog do not let them have it back you have records of vetting and this would constitute ownership.possession is 9/10 of the law!!!

try talking with a local animal shelter and asking their opinion. seeing how much they love dogs they would probably be more than happy to help. Or you could try contacting a lawyer or animal control. Good luck.

Can they prove the dog is theirs? Does it have a chip in it with their name? Possession it 9/10ths of the law. If they have no concrete proof that the dog is theirs....they have no leg to stand on. They can tell all day long that they want their dog back........but with no proof.......they are S.O.L......and the fact that they abandoned the dog is in your favor...plus all the medical attention you have given it. If I were you...I'd tell them to get off your property and leave you alone.........
