Our dog's earmuffs fell off and her "Rescue Remedy" has worn off and at the sound of the last firework she climbed up the wall across the ceiling and is now precariously perched on the chandelier in the sitting room, she won't come down for the sausages that I cooked for her, she won't come down for the cheese on crackers she loves nor for her lead (she adores walks more than anything), I am loath to go and get the ladder to get her down, what do you suggest? PS she is quite a large dog and I am bit worried that the chandelier will come down bringing her and half of the ceiling of this very old house with it.

Our mini apricot poodle is constantly scratching. I've tried everything. The vet checked her - nothing wrong. I've tried natural shampoos... She does not have fleas and is regularly groomed. Any ideas why she does this? Thanks so much.

up until about a month ago she was eating ok, but then she developed a corneal ulcer (almost healed). The vet said just to get her to eat go ahead and let her eat people food. She seems very interested in cat food when she can get to it and also will beg for people food. She wont eat the dog food. She ate a little the other day when I put her food all over the floor. She eats dry food and Im afraid to try canned food if there is any that is safe. Any ideas?

You never know when people are going to get attacked by someone for no reason. People have been attacked by unknown assailants for no reason and people have been attacked by dogs for no reason. You never barged on their properties to make them mad? You didn't intrude on them? You've done nothing to deserve this fatal attack! You just pass by, and they attack you! Tell me what you know. Simple answers like "No" or "Yes" or "I don't know", negative answers, and responses with concerns and no relation to the answer to the question will not be rated.

I have a Black Flatcoat Retriever and I just love this dog. He is much like a Black Lab but to me he seems a bit more energetic. I feed him Pedigre food. I give him walks in the park each day. I had him since he was a puppy and potty trained him easily. I have a beagle and a terrier and he gets along with them great. He sleeps in his kennel at night. What are some things you can tell me about Flatcoat Retrievers that will help me care for him? Thank you.

This stuff sounds very dangerous. Here is what the label says about it: "Hazards to Humans: Harmful if inhaled. Avoid breathing dust. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap & water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, or using tobacco. Remove & wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Avoid contamination of food or foodstuffs. Hazards to Domestic Animals: For use on Dogs & Puppies. Do not use on puppies under 12 weeks of age. Do not reapply more often than once every 3 days. Take care not to get the powder in the animal's eyes, nose or mouth. Consult a veterinarian before using this product on debilitated, aged, medicated, pregnant or nursing animals. Sensitivities may occur after using ANY pesticide product for pets. If signs of sensitivity occur, bathe your pet with mild soap and rinse with large amounts of water. If signs continue, consult a veterinarian immediately." My concern is that if my dog "grooms" himself he will become ill.

I have wanted a dog since i knew what one was and I am 13 now and my parents have never gotten one. Recently my mum heard that one of her friends jack russell cross' was having puppies so she told me and as you would expect, i got very exited. Ever since she told me i have been looking up about them etc and she keeps telling me " the more you go on, the more i don't want one!!" and it's really annoying because i can't help it! She keeps getting further and further away from us actually getting one despite me telling her about all the good things about them. Anyone know how i could maybe persuade her? or is there a small breed that would maybe suit us such as a west highland terrier? Help would be awesome :)

We got a dog a few months ago when it 8 mo. It is a weiner dog. I was against getting it spayed cause I wanted puppies to sell. Now she's in heat and my wife is getting tired of the mess so she got her diapers that won't stay on! LOL.

So now my wife wants to get rid of her or get her spayed, I don't care anymore cause my wife complains about her all the time. She also doesn't like her when she licks her butt, rubs her butt on the carpet, has an accident on the rug. The kids love her and so do I. I told my wife what dogs did at the begining and she said she didn't care. I think my wife is just being selfish now, she is to up tight about the dog. What should I do? She also barks at people when taking her for a walk and people we have come over.

I heard that newfound dogs are pure black.. I have 2 newfies. But one of my newfie has some white in him. He has shades of white mixed with black at various locations throughout his body. I have attached his picture in my profile.

My second newfie is pure black. Why the color difference? I know its only a minor thing and not much to be concerned about but i'm curious to know.
