Hi. I took in a little kitten I found last week and we found out she has fleas. I bought some frontline plus for my greyhound but am not 100% sure on how to apply it because I have never had this problem before. I know its supposed to go in between the sholder blades behind the neck. Any other tips on how to apply it from people that have done it before? thanks

I am not putting it on my kitten, she is too young for it, she is only 5 weeks. I bought it for my GREYHOUND for preventitive measures because I was told once one has them they all have them.

You need to treat your kitten, or neither animal will be free from fleas. Yes, you're correct that Frontline Plus can only be used from 8 weeks of age. However, you can use Frontline SPRAY - this is safe for use on kittens from 2 days of age, so please get some. Surprised your vet didn't tell you.

You just have to make sure the Frontline Plus gets right on the SKIN of your greyhound, not his fur. To stop it flooding over the fur, you can put it in a few different spots round the shoulder blades.

When you apply the spray to the kitten, back comb her hair to get it on her skin as much as possible, then rub it in a bit. Pay particular attention to the belly and under arms. To get it on her head, just spray it on your hands and rub her head, covering her eyes. Wash your hands after or use plastic gloves!

You may well need to treat your house as well, since this is where most of the fleas could be living by now.

Yes. Between the shoulder blades, behind the neck.

Here's Merial's web site that has pictues and instructions on how to apply it. While you are there also check to make sure that the kitten will be safe to be around the greyhound while it is wearing the Frontline.

Our vet recommends using Capstar on all of the pets at one time. All of the fleas will die within a few hours. It is used widely by vet offices to stop infestations from occurring at the office. We use Revolution on our cats and Sentinel on our Greyhound for monthly maintenance. We've never had a flea problem and live in the South when they don't tend to die in the winter.

just do as teh package says and I hope you have better luck with that stuff then I did I spent over $50 and it never worked more than a week and with a dog highly alergic to fleas I couldn't use anyhting for a bout 3 weeks and my dog was so sick.
I found it to be a total waste of money and had a dog that suffered for 3 weeks.

My vet reccomends to put a little between the shoulder blades, behind each ear and, how do i explain....on the bottom (top) kind of like you would do for the shoulder blades, on top in the middle.

Hope this helps. The stuff works fantastically!

Break open the package, and put it on his skin in between the shoulder blades.

Oh, and don't touch it and don't get it in your mouth - it will make it go numb. LOL. Avoid bathing for 48 hours (the dog, not you).
