yeah, depending on where and what for. don't put it anywhere you wouldn't put it on yourself.

Dogs will lick themselves. So if its in an area he can't reach then ok but otherwise you may want to use an E-collar (looks like a lampshape, goes around his neck, you can buy one at the pet store or vets office).

It depends on where you are putting it really. If it's on a big area, or a punture wound, see a vet. The dog may need other treatment.

Yes, for cuts, bites, etc.
You can also use Polysporin eyes/ear ointment for dogs.
