NO it isn't, in fact there are a lot of reports of it being toxic. A LOT of reports. It also doesn't work - no flea treatment that is available in pet stores does because pet stores aren't licensed to sell the proper chemicals for flea treatment.

All the different 'spot-ons' are made from different chemicals, they are nothing like each other. Stick with Advantage, or if you must change, just stick with something from a vets. Frontline is usually cheaper.

Seriously, I know why people get lured in to buying pet store stuff because it's cheap and people think it's more or less the same thing - it really isn't.

I tried the BioSpot on my guys and went back to Frontline the following month, we saw more fleas the month they were on BioSpot.
A co-worker also tried the BioSpot and was dissatisfied (we work at a doggie daycare)
Price is comparable I believe.

I actually work in a petstore that sells Frontline and the cheap stuff. I never recommend the cheap stuff (no, not because I want the bigger sell). I'll even tell them to see if their vet can sell them a single dose if cost is an option (it's more expensive in the end, but to try it for a month). I hate that we even carry the junk.

I too have heard the reports of it being toxic! Keep with what you have. I look at it like if YOU need meds for yourself would you buy cheaper ones that do not work as well to save money? Somethings you have to pay for, and some you can save and buy an off brand... yes you do get what you pay for!

I use bio-spot on my dogs and have been for 5+ years

It is just as effective as the prescription stuff and is much cheaper. My dogs have never had a problem with medicine.

(PS - the other guy posted stuff about seizures etc.......that can happen by feeding your dog grapes - or him eating something out of the trash - or the neighbors trying to poison him etc.....have you read what human meds can do to humans? every medicine has its side effects...but I can tell you from experience that Lyme's is a terrible disease and you don't want your dog bringing home ticks!)

PPS - ALL FLEA AND TICK MEDS ARE TOXIC AND MADE OF CHEMICALS - ALL HAVE THE WARNING LABELS ABOUT IT TOUCHING YOUR SKIN,EYES,MOUTH ETC.......the ones from the Dr.'s office and the OTC - they are all toxic - don't let that part scare you because then you couldn't use ANY flea medicine.
