This is my sister's dog. He lives at her boyfriend's house (she lives there, too) and yesterday they went into the backyard and saw his eyes like this. Do you know what could've happened? Something he ate, a bug bite? His eyes are pretty much closed shut, but he can still see a little bit. He has red bumps on his body, and there were flies all over him like he was...dying. They have another dog and nothing happened to her. She was fine. Any opinion helps us get closer to what happened to him. And yes, they did take him to the vet, but I forgot what they told me.

I have an amstaff and this happened to him. He needs children's benadryl, It is and allergic reaction. either caused by a bug bite or he ate something that caused this reaction. This poor guy needs to come in the house for a little while until the swelling goes down. The flies will cause stress and slow the healing process

There's several different things that could have happened. Yes this could have been insects, however, it's un-likely since BOTH of the eyes were affected. My mother's eyes were swollen shut after she was outside while her father was burning poison ivy leaves--the smoke got into her eyes--so that could be something, or some kind of irritating particles could have gotten in there, if he was sniffing around dirt and the dirt blew into his eyes after ex-haling.

This could also be an allergic reaction his food or anything he's eaten in the past couple of days.

Taking him back to the vet is critical if you want the swelling to go down. You NEED to KNOW what he said, so you could even call to review the diagnosis.

the pictures aren't the best and don't you think it would be easier to callteh vet.
It could be a sting by something.
it could be an alergy of some sort. it could be some kind of poinson the dog got in teh eyes. it could be alot of things
teh vet can do test and all to figure out for sure we can look at pictures and not teh eyes themselves to know.
It could even be an injury to teh eyes themselves./.
